(Don't know the sex of your cat, if it's male, please mentally change she to he and her to him)
There are many reasons your cat may be shedding. The first reason is that she is possibly not getting enough nutrients in her diet. So, put her on a quality premium cat food (trust me, it's worth it) such as Science Diet or Purina. Make sure it fits her age and weight group.
The second reason could be that she's just shedding for the summer, since summer did start just yesterday. If that is the case, groom her daily, or twice daily if you can. If she doesn't like brushes, then get a grooming mitten, which you wear just like any glove, and then pet her like normal, and clean it out when it is covered in fur. Another method is to get a free standing self-groomer (there are some out there, but I forgot what they are called), and let her groom herself with it.
The last reason she may be shedding is because of fleas or some disease. Take a flea comb, and run it through her fur. If there are little black specks on the comb when you run it through her fur, that's flea eggs. Means she has fleas. See your veterinarian for your best option of flea treatment (DO NOT use flea treatment for dogs on your cat!). If it's not fleas, and you've tried the other things above, take her to the veterinarian. It could be a skin disease or condition.
Hope that helps!

Is this abnormal shedding? I mean is the cat going bald? Keep in mind that shedding is normal. If you are concerned that there is something wrong you should talk to your vet. Otherwise get a comb or brush. Many cats enjoy some daily grooming. It feels good to them and cat be a good bonding activity for you both. (Keeps fur from getting all over the place too.)

A lot of cats shed no matter what. It's nature's way of getting rid o old fur.
However, you can try brushing her to get the fur off, and try feeding her some kind of high-nutrition food in case she's shedding because of malnutrition.
Good luck!

Cats naturally shed, nothing to worry about. However if it becomes bothersome you can brush your cat and help remove some of this shedding hair. Or if the shedding is causes the cat to get sick you can buy hair ball medicine for him/her and this will make them feel better. Otherwise just leave kitty alone and let her do her thing, this is perfectly natural.

Most cats shed their winter fur at this time of year. There isn't much you can do about it except brush them with a cat brush or a hair brush. If you brush their bodies all over and do it when ever you can it does help keep the shedding to a minimum.

I would suggest brushing everyday. My cat does not like the brush and was getting a lot of hair balls so I went out and got a clipper set and I shaved him with the 'lion cut'. It will be nice for him in the summer as he will not be as hot... your cat will thank you!
I have my cat on a hair ball food but that does not stop the hair balls. That is why I fianlly decided to give him a hair cut.

well its getting hot outside and your cat is going to shed no matter what. so brush it often to get all the loose hair off the body. Vacuum often to. It helps to take them to the groomer to get it shaved just a bit, so it has short hair. But if its really bad its a sign of poor nutrition so be sure your cat gets a well balenced diet for it age.

Let it happen. It sucks to have to clean up the hair, but it is natural. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, it is summer right now, and cats are getting rid of their thicker coats that they had for when the weather was cold. There is nothing to stop or help it along. Just let it happen.

You should have thought of that before you got her. Some cats just have fur that sheds easily, there is nothing you can do about that. You can also get bathing wipes for cats, and when you wipe them, all of the loose fur comes off, if it's hairballs your worried about.
