I am set to make a catfish and trout dinner. I have no idea what kinds of side dishes go well with fish. I really need some help deciding. Thank-you.

a really nice tossed salad will go with both, and some sort of veggie as well. Since the catfish is fried, make the other dishes
light and not fried also.

fried catfish - hush puppies, coleslaw, lots of tarter.
baked trout - depends on how you bake it, if its fresh or farm raised... but if your going for a lighter tasting dish, lightly sauteed squash, rice pilaf or brown rice with mushrooms. If your going with more a bacon baked western flavour, the boys like their baked beans, corn and biscuits
and with either .. cant forget potato salad...

Home made mac & cheese, cornbread, garlic & pepper green beans, & some sweet potatoe pie for desert...i would even serve some sweat tea w/ the meal
