I think first of all, you may just be used to getting up at that time. But I also think that if you set your alarm, it is usually because you have to wake up for work, and you aren't really always looking forward to it. If you wake up on your own, you probably have the day to yourself.

This is an excellent question, better than most of them. :D I think it's something to do with the mindset of freedom and how we can cram so much more stuff in a day that we want to do, and having the constrictions of an alarm makes us want to not do anything we have to do. Rebellious human mindset, i guess. ~Moony

I don't know but if you figure it out let me know how to stop it. I think it has something to do with our internal clock. Or it could be my cat licking my ear so I will get up and feed her.

alarms startle you awake, and your body has to try harder to catch up. its kind of like when someone shakes you awake, you are all disoriented.
