It depends, are you talking an alive person, or dead? If you're talking alive, then all we smell like is blood, kind of like iron and meat, except for the stomach, colon and bowels. They really aren't pleasant to smell. If you have an infection, that part of you will smell bad, it's really pretty nasty.

If you are talking dead, then yes, you stink. The smell comes from bacteria created to feed off your dead tissue, decomposition. That really smells horrible!! There is nothing worse then the smell of a decomposing body. As another person stated, when someone dies they will evacuate everything in their bowels and bladder. So that smell adds to the smell of decay.

When I used to do medical research on bodies, the smell was horrible, but it's because of the chemicals they use to preserve the body. There were some days it took everything in me not to have to leave the room. I learned that the best way around it is a little bit of vikks vapor rub under your nose.. you don't smell anything after that, and it leaves your lip nice and tingly!!

I would agree with you, but now I tried so much, I can tell you that it may help some, but others have internal problems. Because if not an internal problem, what could that be? It can't be shower/hygiene. I get lots of embarassing gas when I train, eat smth or even drink a litle bit of any juice, tea, etc. Nothing helps. It gets worse or a little bit better. I eat healthy, etc. So many examples I can give on what i do right. What can I do wrong? Eat. It's like any food gives me gasses. If I don't fart I feel the smell anyways. Strange, but it happens to other people too. We need a CURE ASAP! This thing is destroying lives!

A dead body smells worse than a living one because it is decomposing. Diseased body parts have worse smell than healthy ones. Different part of the body has different smell depending on their compositions. Inside the intestines and other places where wastes resides are among the worst in smell. Other body parts having bodily discharges can smell pretty bad too, worse than usual. Bacteria cause bad smell, like bad breath. Other than that, most people expect part of their bodies that they have never witnessed to smell worse than they really do. In surgery room, the smell of the burning of human flesh (they kinda have to do that) actually smells worse than the flesh itself.

Have smelled the inside of most body cavities when I was on surgical rotation. Unless you actually open up the digestive tract, it's not that bad of an odor at all.

No, not usually. I mean perhaps it might have a funny smell, but I think it smells bad when something is wrong. When a person is ill, I think that's when it smells awful.

the meat, and blood and brains do not smell bad, just like meat from the market. The gastro-intestinal tract does smell from the bacteria. If given time and left in the open for bacteria to set in then yes it will eventually smell awful
