Why believe in a god that:
Murders his children. (great flood)
Murders his children's children (babies in Egypt)
Impregnates a married woman (Mary)
Has an illegitimate child. (JC)
And to top it off, that conceited jerk says to worship him? (1st commandment)

I would say your "idiot" claim is misguided.

Of course that makes sense! Mt. Rushmore was created by an intelligent creator (PEOPLE). Therefore, people were created by an even greater power (GOD). And then God was created by.....uh oh, a hole in your argument. How can an a great intelligent power like God not have a creator, like all other intelligent creators/creations. Hmmm.....I know! Lets just all say that GOD IS LOGIC FREE-IGNORE THE FACTS AND IT WILL ALL MAKE SENSE! Problem solved!

Atheism is simply the lack of a belief in a god or gods. An atheist is not required to accept the theory of evolution or deny the supernatural. People here are confusing skeptic/brights/naturalists/freethinkers with atheism.

Now, did you actually have a question in that post somewhere?

For what it's worth, your logic is tragically flawed. Just because man creates something does not (in any way) imply that there must therefore be an even greater creator. You are making a jump in logic without any basis.

Also, from your statement "He exists outside our reality", you imply that god doesn't have anything to do with us. If he exists outside of our reality, then how did he create us?

If you have read your bible correctly it shows you that you are not to swear which by biblical definition includes saying negative things about anyone.

It is not right for praising and cursing to come out of the same mouth (James 3:9-12).

We should only allow good and positive things to come out of our mouths - things that will encourage other people (Ephesians 4:29)

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. (James 3:9-12)

For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech (1 Peter 3:10 )

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen (Ephesians 4:29)

Hope that helps!

You, my friend, are an idiot if any of us are.

Simply because Mt. Rushmore was carved by a bunch of animals, it doesn't mean that the people that carved it needed to be created by a God. That's simply foolish.

Do I need to explain where your atoms came from? I don't have time for that.

Do some research for a change, and stop blindly listening to what the Bible and your pastor tells you. I suggest reading the wikipedia articles on the Big Bang Theory (to explain where you came from) and Ockham's Razor (if there is no rational explanation, we need not assume a paranormal one)

That is a gigantic leap of logic. A sculpture requires a sculptor, therefore a sculptor requires a creator? I disagree.

It is obvious that a tremendous amount of planning went into the creation of the sculpture on Mt. Rushmore. If we are, indeed, "designed," why do we seem to be so poorly designed? Why do we have metabolisms that lead us towards obesity? Why do we so prone to cancers and other diseases? Why do we stink? Why are our digestive systems so inefficient?

I agree that human beings are amazing things that evolved. I realise it is difficult to imagine a universe arising from nothing. But I don't see how that is an less believeable than God the creator. Personally I feel that God is the easy option to explain the inexplainable. It is not idiocy to question things. An open mind is an intelligent one. I respect your beliefs, and don't feel the need to be so defensive about mine, as you obviously do about yours.

LOL idiots, eh!? You're getting desperate now, aren't you!
Don't show your ignorance to the world, child.

Btw, do you HAVE another argument...?

LOL looks like the_pretty_one22 is starting to realise evolution works...(or has she just ran out a valid argument too)...ha ha

patronne06, the questioner, I believe you owe some people an apology...or will your pride not allow you to do that? You are obviously quite young and inexperienced, so it is understandable you are easily impressed with the' god thing', but if you want to be an xtian just so you can 'bash the heathens' you'll end up getting hurt, bud.

Idiots? No. Different theories and beliefs? Yes. Most definitely.

Man evolved and IS evolving by his own means, not divine intervention. Of this truth, there IS evidence. There is absolutely no evidence to back your claim whatsoever.

Reality requires evidence. "Outside our reality" doesn't require any evidence on your part because it's as simple as saying "I saw a flying purple pig yesterday and it sat down beside a burning bush to smoke a joint with a red polka dot rhino... Only you can't see it." If it's something 'outside our reality', how can you know it? How can you state, factually, that there is a reality beyond our own, and that something/sometime is there. If it's beyond our knowledge, then how can you know it?!

What you see as being "outside our reality" is really a matter of convenience and conjecture in the guise of "faith".
