Replacing one species will do nothing.
You must make sure it has a working food chain to guarantee its survival. Also, the replenishing will put stress on other organisms survival. Therefore you might have to replenish more than one species.

I think that most people think it is important to save the animals, birds and insects that are endangered.I say why not save the trees and forests all over the world.Because without them there will be no need to save the other species. So without a doubt saving the trees/forests is an important responsibility for every human involved. In replenishing what we ourselves are endangering....our own world without forests will be a very cold and dead world.
