My thoughts on racism?

I think that racism is horrible.

It does seem as if we are the only country (USA) that has continued to do this.

I hate it. Racism is bad.

I was and still am an overweight white male. I grew up in Anaheim, Ca where there were no Hispanic people except for one family. I made their kid my friend. He was great.

My father's friend Van Foust (God rest in peace) had an Asian wife name Rikki. I loved her because she treated me like a person.

I lived in Puerto Rico where everyone was Hispanic. They were so nice to the little "blond hair, blue eyed" child.

I had a black friend names Stan Domino. He and his brothers all bowled in my bowling league.

I had a Vietnamese girlfriend.

I had many Middle Eastern students. They were like the Americans.

I grew up with people who treated me like a was a people (?!).

I respect that there were nice to me and I was nice back to them.

Racists are idiots who have no idea that they live in a world of different people of different color and different sexual preference. They are now a minority that needs to shrink out of all society.

racism can result from a lot of things, e.g. ignorance, fear, and arrogance. to assume that one's skin color or culture is more intelligent, more... anything than another's skin color or culture is highly unfortunate and pitiful. when i think about racism, two feelings come to mind: extreme sadness and extreme anger. i am sad because some people will never see past what is in front of their two eyes and because racism can breed violence that destroys and further divides people. i am angry because of the violence and intolerance that racism creates and because of how completely ignorant it is. seriously, what can bring a person to assume that one skin color is better than another? cultures feed off of each other, it's called cultural diffusion. for example, mathematics wouldn't be the same if the arabs hadn't come up with the number 0, and italian food wouldn't be the same if noodles weren't introduced by merchants who had visited china. and we live in a time where being from different cultural backgrounds and being multi-racial is a norm. racism is holding the advancement of humanity as a whole back because it is a way of thinking that is so backwards. it's so unfortunate that people still think that way.

Racism and prejudice are learned behaviors. It is in all cultures. It is a very serious problem that many are overlooking because they don't know how or don't want to deal with it. It's not going away...........unfortunately. Many will continue to be hurt because of the hatred and ignorance that others have.
