Saying someone is racist is a quick way to get out of a debate if you are losing. just like that english national language bill passed recently. Many people called it "racist" because they were against it. It only damages their own side and makes them lose credibility. I liked when one senator asked "what color is english?"
Now if someone is losing a debate on illegals (can't find positives for illegal immigration) they will say "Well you're just racist!" or "you're a redneck!". They just resort to name calling'
"Because your racist." -- Pancha
see pancha is probably the worst one on here, all of her posts say what I just pointed out. She either says "you're racist" or "you're a redneck". Even though I live in new england.
"primarily because "whites" were the last to have slaves in our country and that wound is still fresh albeit it happened 40 to 50 years ago."
What?? Slavery ended in the early 1800s. Hundreds of thousands of white people died in the civil war over it.
And your comment about racism still existing. yes it does and we must not put any laws against it. Whether it be black on white or white on black. We can't become anti-freedom of speech.
"Take a trip outside of your safe borders and get a whole new perspective of the WORLD. Then you will begin to see........ if you'r not in denial or a coward."
Yeah we are not talking about third world countries, we are discussing people selfishly using the race card in the USA to win arguements.
"IF YOU WERE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE I'M VERY SURE YOU WOULD NOT BE COMPLAINING ABOUT PULLING "THE RACE CARD.""
Uhh yeah because the klan is still running around lynching people and blacks and minorities aer still being oppressed by the gov. Wake up in the 21st century, its over. No one is being discriminated. May be someone will make fun of you for who you are in life, but how is that severe? Happens to everyone.
And the people using teh race card are usually white liberals who are losing the debate on illegal immigration.

Because it is much easier to cry racist, than to actually debate a topic using intellect....
supergirl331117- You are black and proud, and also ignorant....
Do you think white people don't get racist remarks made about them all the time? Of course they do, redneck, hillbilly, you name it. All you have to do is read on here a bit, and you will see it. Racism works both ways, not just from whites towards everyone else. I have EVERY right to comment on other races. White does not equate to rich and gifted.
The black race is not African American! That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. you are making two very stupid assumptions when you use that term. First that all black people live in America, and second, that all black people come from Africa. When you get educated you come back and talk to me, because you are obviously to ignorant of how things work, to use intellect to come to an opinion....

I learned something very important in Criminal Psychology. When you visit a jail and actually talk to the inmates there is something you will find in common with every one of them. No matter if it is male, female, short, tall, black, white, mexican, asian, whatever. Not one of them will ever take FULL responsibility for what they did. Sure some of them will admit they did it. But they will never say that it was their fault. It's always, well my girl took all my money, or she was asking for it, or I grew up that way, it's my parents fault, blah blah blah, tiny violins, blah blah blah. But this mentality isn't restricted to inmates or criminals. In all of us, there is a small piece that puts the blame on others. When we don't get what we want (a job, for instance), we would rather believe it was for the color of our skin (something we can't control), than for a perfectly valid reason such as a lack of a solid education or work experience (something we can control). So, it is really just a basic human instinct that is driven home on a daily basis thanks to the media. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but it is the truth. I'm not saying some people don't have to work harder, but racism is not what it used to be.
(I had to say something about this!) Shep says "primarily because "whites" were the last to have slaves in our country and that wound is still fresh albeit it happened 40 to 50 years ago. "
You know you're getting an intelligent debate when he thinks the slaves were freed 40-50 years ago. I'll ask my mom and dad how that went! Funny, they never mentioned it.

Because racism is so much ingrained in this society where we live. Your narrative says: "I' m a Christian- MY PEOPLE were fed to the lions...."
The 1st CHRISTIANS were not from CAUCASIAN EUROPE.
People don't want to face the truth. The cradle of civilization/ today's religions, etc. originated from the MIDDLE EAST.
Look up what those people looked like, OK??
..and while you're at it, Look up some true history about how CONQUERORS came to North/Central/South America, and Africa. Touting "religion", but robbing, raping, stealing, and yes conquering. It's not pretty, but that's some of the hidden History.
Today, if you don't LIVE with this racism, you don't recognize it. Being the dominant color in the North America and Europe (only) is easy to NOT see.
Take a trip outside of your safe borders and get a whole new perspective of the WORLD. Then you will begin to see........ if you'r not in denial or a coward.

I don't really think you can equate slavery and human rights abuses that only started to be put right thirty years ago to the christians being fed to the lions 2000 years ago. While blacks still get paid less and latinos are in social exclusion and enforced poverty. When only rich white people can get the top jobs and accumulate more wealth, racism will always have to be taken into account.

In some cases it's true, but I don't believe that it should be a card played. i think most use it as a power tool. When someone calls you a racist, there really isn't any quick outcome. Are you supposed to prove your not? And, by how? i think playing the racist card shows lack of intelligence. However, i will say that I think their are still alot of in-the-closet racist people out there, or at least a lot that like to streotype.

GOOD question but easy answer-- because it WORKS! The hypersensitivity over racism is so extreme that all one has to do is say "racist" to get attention. It's one of the few remaining "sins" or taboos left in society. You can steal music, smoke crack, sell drugs, cheat on your spouse, etc. but make a racial slur and prepare to meet your maker! You want to get revenge? Call someone a racist-- there's almost an assumed guilt until proven innocent clause with it. You can thank bleeding heart liberals and race bating politicians.

From the beginning of times, people have differences - and these differences cause friction, bias and even wars. It may be a difference in skin color, but it may also be a matter of religion, geographical location or any number of things.
If husbands and wives fight each other, how can you expect races to get along. In today's society, some people play the race card - but I don't think it is as effective (in most cases) as it was 20 years ago. When people don't get what they want, out of desperation, they will play the race card. Reality shows that their situation is driven more by their own acts (or by omission) - but they don't want to blame themselves and expect others to bail them out.

Making racist statements is not the most logical way to combat racism. Accusing everyone who isn't white of racism is still racist, see? That's why "the race card" is pulled so frequently- it's always close to the top of the deck.

IF YOU ARE NOT A MINORITY THEN YOU CAN NOT COMMENT ON THE RACE CARD. DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN YOU ARE A VICTIM OF RACISM. I WOULD IMAGINE NOT SINCE YOU SAY WE BLACK PEOPLE AND MINORITIES USE IT. LET ME CORRECT YOU. THE RACE OF BLACK IS NOT CALLED BLACK. WE ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF I CALLED YOU WHITE OR A CRACKER. YOU WOULD FEEL OFFENDED. EVERYONE PULLS OUT THE RACE CARD B/C SOME OF YOUR PEOPLE (LETS FACE IT) ARE SO QUICK TO USE RACIAL PROFILING. RACISM STILL EXISTS SO AS LONG AS IT EXISTS EVERY MINORITY WILL CONTINUE TO USE IT. DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS BEING HARASSED BY WHITE COPS OR JUST WHITE PEOPLE PERIOD B/C YOU ARE A MINORITY. IT HURTS. IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN AN URBAN(GHETTO) TOWN. YOU'LL SEE THAT RACISM STILL EXISTS. IN THE WHITE TOWNS THERE ARE SPEED LIMIT SIGNS EVERY 10 FEET YOU REACH THAT SAY KEEP OUR KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25 NOW GO TO AN URBAN TOWN. YOU'RE LUCKY TO SEE ONE SPEED LIMIT SIGN AND IT'S NOT EVEN IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL. BEING A MINORITY IS ABOUT STRUGGLING AND OVERCOMING SOMETHING THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SO DON'T CRITICIZE WELL JUDGE US B/C WE ARE A MINORITY. EDUCATE YOURSELF TO KNOW THAT RACISM STILL EXISTS. LOOK AT SCHOOL STATISTICS FROM A WHITE PRIVILEDGED SCHOOL AND THEN LOOK AT THE STATISTICS FROM URBAN SCHOOLS. THE NUMBERS DECREASE DRAMATICALLY. EVERY DAY I WAKE UP I FIGHT RACISM, AND SO DOES MANY OTHER MINORITIES. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMMENT ON ANYTHING CONCERNING OTHER RACES.
