To be a Christian you must believe and trust in what Jesus did on the cross for you. He died for your sins. The first time they were called Christian was at Antioch. Acts 11: 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. In the Old Testament, God was only dealing with one Nation. The Nation of Israel. They the 12 sons of Jacob. There WERE NO Christians before Jesus. There were only Jews (though they were more commonly called Hebrews). Christianity is actually only a deviation of Judaistic beliefs, properly regarded.

Jews is not entirely correct, however almost all of them were. We call them "Old Testament saints", "Godly men or women", or simply followers of the Old Testament". The bible refers to them as "followers, observers, or obeyers of the law (or of the Law of Moses)". But yes, most of them were biologically Jews at that time.

There were no Christians before Jesus. Christians came about because of Christ. People in that area were Jewish before then. Jesus was Jewish also.
