That's a risk you do take. You have to really know the person to have an idea of the answer to that question; and even then, you are risking.

If you choose not to use your friend for that reason; then still find some one to talk with. It's a good thing to talk things out. Sometimes an unknown is the best person.

I would think if they were a real friend they'd stick with you-- but I wouldn't be offended if they don't really have anythign to say back after you've spilled all this. A couple friends have done that to me and sometimes I'm kind of at a loss for words at the end of it all..

Dont be too sure; I always place99% trust on my close friends but the 1% i like to have to myself.
Moreover, if you cannot keep your own secrets, you cant expect another person to keep them either.
As far as your deppression is concerned; talking may help; but dont over burder your friend with your woes. It may drive your friend away from you. Dont depend too much on him for emotional support.
The best way to unload yourself is to talk to qualified therapist or a mature person.

well if it is a close, true friend, I would think that you would become closer because you felt comfortable enough with them to do so. If not such a good close friend, they may be turned off by what you are saying and disappear. Only time may tell.

If he is really a friend he will stay thruogh thick and thin and if he does not stay he was not worth it . Lay your heart on the line if he is a friend he will stay.

He should.

I've been an ear to a lot of my friends and have stayed that ear b/c I care. That's the meaning of true friendship.

Yeah. Chances are they feel the same way. But they might not know what to say back.
