intelligent design or theistic evolution sounds like an impersonal god

the god of the bible is very specific, god made animals on day 5, and on day 6 he made man

if you say you believe in intelligent design or theistic evolution, how can you claim to be a jew or a christian

this is like showing up at a cubs sox baseball game wearing a cubs hat and a cubs shirt and saying but im a chicagon of course i am a sox fan

I don't think it is necessary to teach the Judeo-Christian, Hindu or any other religious scriptures when teaching "intelligent design". Intelligent design is using the same evidence that evolutionists use to argue that the universe has been a result of purposeful design rather than a cosmic accident. I think it is entirely possible to teach "intelligent design" in science classes alongside evolution without having to invoke religious and/or moral discussions. In a purely naturalistic scientific learning environment, there is no need to take "intelligent design" any further by suggesting who the creator is and why He/(or She for those who insist) has created the universe. Going in this direction can be reserved for philosophical and/or theological studies and in such classes; all religions of interest should be studied, debated and scrutinized openly and fairly. For the record, you can claim that Hinduism is the one true religion. True Christianity isn't a religion anyway...it is a personal relationship with the one true God revealed in three persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). We Christians (sadly) tend to make our beliefs in God a religion. Religion is man's way of trying to make God understandable. Man has always been uncomfortable with what he doesn't understand. God's ways are so much greater and deeper than our own and we often try to simplify our understanding of His character and perfect will through religion. The Bible (Old and New Testament) is not religion. What man does with the Bible is what (more often than not) becomes religion. Jesus knew this and He was constantly rebuking the teachers of the law for doing this very thing. They often used God's word to elevate themselves and keep others down. They would even take God's laws and add some of their own. Why do you think Jesus was so unpopular with most of the pharisees and saducees?

Is it not possible for "god" to in fact be the one who created intelligent design? While the bible does State that he created Fish on the 5th day and both animals and Man on the 6th we do not know what a "day" is in his existance. Light (the Sun and the Moon) were not created until the 4th day so how was a "day" measured without light? This is when Day and Night were created. It says elswhere that our LIFETIME is but a blink of an eye in his time so how many "blinks" are there in a day? Millions? So if his day is millions of years long could't both be true?

Perhaps he had included in his plan that the creatures would evolve. Creatures of the sea were created first so if a day was millions of years then animals came (6th day) and then Man. So it is possible he created all with one motion set into place.

We all have genetic code in our genes that determine many things about us. So maybe it was set in motion from the beggining that some creatures would evolve as time went on.

Because, time wasn't established until I believe the forth day when there was day and night. God's time is different from human time. What is 1 year here could equal a thousand to God. If you want that comment elaborated upon, post another question

yes, and now we bring the discussion to the reality of time. yes, the bible does say god created the animals and man when you say. the same bible also says that to "god a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day"

einstein proved to us that TIME is relative

You can believe in various contradictory things because the brain has the ability to compartmentalize things so that things which are really contradictory can be made to appear harmonious in your thinking. Translation: believe whatever you want, however you want, whenever you want. Nobody really cares what you think.

some are confused on this issue. But there is room for some grace in that scenario. There is none in evolution without God

I don't fully understand your question.
Are you saying intelligent design differs from creationism?
This is God's world, I am created in his image. Every thing he created, he created for my use and pleasure.
