This American thinks that they do. And the President and the illegal immigrants actions are speaking to me loud and clear.
Want to show them how to boycott and shut down a country, until you are heard loud and clear?
Write and email your mayor and tell them that you are joining the Just Vote No campaign, and that until the real issues of the people are addressed. I have limited space here so if you want a copy of the letter to send to your mayor, and then take the next step. send a copy to your congressmen, and let them know they are next.
If you want to be heard on the issue of Illegal Aliens, then close your wallets to all who speak little, if any English. If they migrated here through the proper process then they speak English. Maybe, slow English, but they still speak English. Close your wallets to companies that hire illegals, in your local area you know who they are. Now remember the point of the letters is to show that you are going to take action, and have already taken the first step, by notifying them.
I think illegals and advocates for them are a bit worried this might work against them. At least that is the sense I get from some of the replies.

Since most answers here appear to say they support criminals stealing from them and their fellow Man. And, I said nothing about Mexican speaking people. I included all illegal aliens, and the proper immigration requires that the immigrant be able to speak English before entering the country, so I am not the one mis-informed. But, I am also not supporting criminals in this country by teaching them English so they can deceive us further.

It doesn't matter what the situation, action does speak louder than words. Instead of saying you'll do something which is a lot of lip service, people tend to take notice when they see it in action. Mere words are just heresay without action.

Wow, you are REALLY ignorant to some facts. First off, someone who came here legally or illegally may have limited or no English speaking skills. Considering I helped to educated non-speakers, I know this first hand. What a silly thing to say on your part. Maybe you should try to learn another language as difficult as English and see how NOT SO EASY it is, then we'll talk. Learning a language takes time, especially if you are an adult, it is much more difficult than if you are young.
People like you need to learn how to read and educate yourself to the truth. Most of the illegals have been here for more than 15-20 years. In 1986 Congress passed a law allowing illegals to stay if they came forward. Now, because Bush is trying to deflect the presssure of the mess he made in Iraq onto something else, like immigration, these folks have reason to be really angry with our government.
BTW, did your ancestors come here legally? I'll bet not, better check, we may deport you too!

The great migration to US isn't only from Mexicans and illegals, they are coming from all over the Americas.
And if you think that is going to stop anytime soon you are misinformed. They are already a huge voting block of our society. Many are 1st, 2nd and third generation immigrants from Latin America.
These people will be a force to contend with. Most will have sympathy for their fellow Latinos.
Politicians aren't stupid, they are well aware of this, the concept of a English speaking white America will eventually become a thing of the past.....
Dont kid yourself, in this country the majority rules, supposedly..

If, as you say, Americans closed their wallets to companies that hire illegals, employers would be the first in line demanding all illegals be deported. That's what the problem of illegal immigration is all about. Money and greed. You'd see these employers become superpatriots so fast your head would spin. Right now, they are all ready and willing to spread lies, such as, the American worker is too lazy to do the jobs illegals do. But if hiring illegals suddenly starts cutting into their profits, they would be calling for a constitutional ammendment that made it a felony to call an American worker lazy.

sure, movements communicate louder than words. The torturing is an embarrasment and considerate individuals are ashamed of it. i will say sorry to those tortured, yet to no longer you. we haven't any legal accountability to not sleep on your expectancies. We have faith we set our standars intense; we've faith we take corrective action as quickly as we are incorrect. we decide directly to spend what we do on the protection tension because of the fact of our innovations-set in the direction of threats to the country and the potential to curve hands whilst mere banter is unconvincing. some think of we would desire to continually spend greater, some much less, yet we've coalition politics and a powerful democratic device. There are no apologies for our protection tension. they are below tight (some say too tight) civilian administration and that they are going to be shrinking, yet in all likelihood no longer on the %. that unwell-wishers of the USA choose. Their universal officers have known the blunders that delivered approximately Abu Graib and different incidents and that they are taking corrective action as annoying by utilising their civilian masters. The civilian leaders that promoted torture have been bumped off in the way we individuals choose to get rid of leaders. so some distance as a Palestinian native land is concern, the neighboring countries can in all likelihood do better than the USA to deliver some end to that situation. yet for some reason it is not in the activity of Syria, Jordan, Egypt, the Sauds, or Iran. although, of path, no longer for an identical reason. The financial soften-down became a liquidity disaster delivered approximately by utilising a fall down in exceedingly leveraged markets. we've spent billions to correctly suited it, purely as we proceed to spend billions to guard and safeguard our different hobbies. We do what we do because of the fact we are in a position to. pay attention to our movements. they are consistent.

Here in America, all the citizens do is TALK and DEBATE. We don't take action anymore, unlike the 70's.
This country is in desperate need of a revolution.

Isn't writing a strongly worded letter more "words" than "action"?
