because christians dont want anyone to focus on God anymore. they overthrew God for Jesus!
Christianity makes a mockery of God. At the same time that Christians claim to worship God as an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent being, they make him out to be incompetent bumbler. Or worse. Simple forgiveness is beyond his capacities. God must "sacrifice himself to himself to change a rule he made himself!"
This is not only an absurdity, it is an essential absurdity. It is present in almost almost all forms of Christianity, and one can scarcely remove it and remain a Christian in anything but name. By definition, all Christians worship Christ - in some form - and most worship him as a saviour.
But what, exactly, is he saving us from? Though it varies from church to church, no matter what they call it, it's God himself. A hell created by God, a world fallen as a result of God's negligence, a separation from God imposed... by God.
"It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being."
- Dan Barker, Losing Faith in Faith
Christianity certainly isn't the first religion to promote appeasement of its gods, and if it were merely another supernatural protection racket, it would be bad enough. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. Christians elevate appeasement to the realm of "personal relationship", transforming their religion into a true monstrosity.
This is the type of "relationship" that abused wives have with their husbands, that brainwashed hostages have with their captors. It is known in clinical circles as Stockholm Syndrome. Should it come as any surprise that the cries of the church, "The Bride of Christ" sound much like the cries of an abused wife attempting to protect her husband?
"He must beat me."
"I deserve it."
"He has no choice."
"It's for my own good."
These excuses don't work for human abusers, and they work even less well for God. For if God is omnipotent, he must have a choice. And if we are flawed, we are only flawed because that is the way he made us. (No excuses that we ruined his perfect creation. A truly perfect creation does not self-destruct.)
If the Christian God does exist - and I see no reason to believe that he does - he's not worthy of the name.
And that is the ultimate absurdity of Christianity.
- Jason

If you don't believe, it really isn't that hard. Seriously, we Christians are unfortunately brainwashed from the get go. You are born, parents take you to church, and before you can talk, walk, and comprehend you have heard 100 sermons about God and Jesus. Take a step back and look at it from someone else's eyes. There is no proof of God, sometimes the Bible tells stories that never happened, many times our fellow Christians are only Christians when they feel it is applicable, and Christians have a bad rep with stuffing it down people's throats. You can't prove to people that there is a God and Jesus more than a man from scripture. The scripture was written by man in the book that you need to realize is a bit of a stretch. Your faith keeps you believing and loving, but the people you are referring to have no faith. And I can't blame them. People will ask God to give them the numbers to win the lottery. Why? Do you have a job? Did you go to college? Whatever it is that you can't afford why can't you afford it? IS it because you made bad decisions in life? Maybe it is best if you can't afford it to show others that the path you took was not the right path. My personal beliefs are that God does not intervene. I refuse to believe he would allow war if he did. I also can't believe he would allow a quarter of a million people to be killed by a tsunami if he believed in stopping such things. It couldnt' have been all those people's time to go. Heaven and Hell, I think people have the wrong idea. How can I enjoy someone's company with no body? I can't hug them, can't see them, hear them, etc. So why do I want to go to Heaven? I think it is a state of mind that you are in when you die. The satisfaction of knowing that you lived a good life.

Christians believe that Jesus and God are inseparable.
I believe this is true for other reasons, because I believe Jesus' message (which has been misinterpreted) was actually that we are all inseparable from god, and not that he was the one and only divine being. I believe what he said was:
"Know ye not that you are the sons and daughters of god?"
It was our little minds that kept placing the onus of divinity on a single human. As to why you would NEED Jesus, it is because the Christians believe he is their conduit to God and that without him they would have no mediator.
Although they will tell you from their dogma that "You must accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior to get into heaven", this seems like small minded mortal thinking. Even Jesus said that we are all equal in God's eyes.
There is a paradox at work here also. Christian religions declare that humans placing judgment on humans is a sin. Yet, suggesting the you need to have accepted Jesus to be holy, is a form of passing judgment.
Jesus does provide a pretty great role model and this also contributes to why they feel accepting him is "needed".

There are a lot of reasons...some people say it out of jest when someone is acting a fool (i.e. person says something dumb and you say "you need jesus"). Another reason is because the Bible states that He is the way, the truth and the life and none shall come to the Father but by Him. So that makes Jesus a connector if you will to God the Father. Another part of the Bible says that in order to be saved you have to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life and believe that he died, was buried, and rose again. Either way, sometimes you have to go through the kids to get to know their parents because most children have many characteristics of their parents. I was taught that God is really three people even though He is one God so you have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. When you want to get to know someone you want to get to know all their personalities and that is why "you need Jesus."

As are most questions from those seeking honest answers here, this one requires much more than can be gone into here... if one truly wants to know... From the Christian Faith pov no one comes to God save through Jesus.... Yet... Jesus IS God.... This is Truth.... kind of makes the head spin think'n on it dont it?
No, most people do not even believe in what those of the Christian Faith believe... and most never will. No one can be compeled to Become a Christian... it dont work that way... and youcan not just "choose" to become one either. and you can not be a Christian just because your parents were/are... or because they may have baptized you as a baby... It is between you and God and it is God's choise if you become a Christian or not....
I accept email Questions from honest seekers about the Christian Faith. I do not spam... I aint got time for that... just honest answers to honest questions...

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?
Jesus? Christianity? .
If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.
Gods do not die? Do they?
If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?
If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.
If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

Jesus is the Redeemer. It is though his shed blood that sins are forgiven. The Bible says that without shedding of blood there in no remission. He offers this remission to all men (women too I use man for the whole species). You except this remission though faith in Jesus. For by grace we are saved thought faith. The true Christian church (no matter the denomination) holds these teachings as the reasons why we need Jesus. Without his blood we stand in our sin before a just God who can't have any uncleanliness entering His presence. He has no choice but to have his judgement fall on them.

why do people say you need jesus?
Because jesus is the WORD
Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus became flesh
Jhn 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
3 in 1 that are God
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
God the creator (why Pluaral?)
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Phl 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Phl 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phl 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phl 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Phl 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Phl 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;
Phl 2:11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. Jesus is the Alpha & Omega.

God is one God, but 3 parts. He's the father, the son, and the holy spirit. It's hard to understand, but it's like a clover. There are 3 different leaves all making up one clover. So when you say, I need God, but I don't need his son, it's an oxymoron. Jesus is God.

The Godhead exists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The bible speaks of the deity of Jesus throughout, especially in the new testament.
Curious that you should compare Jesus to a surgeon's son, because in Matthew 9:12, Jesus likened His mission of salvation to that of a physician who was there for those who needed care. I have known Jesus to be referred to as the 'Great Physician', as He came not only to redeem our lives from everlasting death, but to heal and restore us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
We need Jesus because He is the standard by which the Father has granted us reconciliation to Himself. Acts 4:12 says, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
If you would like any scriptures about His deity, email me.
The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are three separate, distinctive personalities, much as brothers and sisters are, but they are referred to as being of one Spirit, (or of the same substance)- much like a family is connected by the same 'blood'.
Jehovah is another name for God, but it is used primarily, (in a non-Jehovah's Witness bible), in conjunction with other words to describe the separate charateristics of God. For instance, Jehovah-Jireh means 'God is our provider'.
In the Strong's Concordance of Greek and Hebrew words, Jehovah occurs in the old testament about 7 times,(unless I miscounted). Calling God 'Jehovah' is not a requirment. They made themselves known to you as, Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. Those names are much more intimate than Jehovah.
You need to read your bible so that you know what it says...until you come know God and have some spiritual maturity on you, be careful of what you swallow as the truth. The bible promises that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. Lean on Him, not on your own understanding.
