My best friend has a girlfriend that he really loves (2.5 year relationship). The problem is that they were just able to start going out by themselves (At first they were only allowed to be together if there was a group of people with them) and he's leaving for his first year of college this year. He doesn't really care for her parents because they are so conservative and won't let them do anything together. How much longer will this relationship last? Might I add, he kind of has a crush on another girl(really sweet, nice, fun girl) I know this situation sounds kind of bad, but I just want my friend to be happy.

He doesn't really love her if he likes someone else. He has to be respectful of her parents if he really cares. Her parents are doing the right thing and protecting her from major harm. What's wrong with being a concerned parent? When you are a parent, you will understand. I think it will all work out when he goes away to school. The relationship will fizzle and just as well. Except for a few exceptions, young relationships will not last. Stop worrying.

I dont see it lasting if he has a crush on someone else sounds alil closer to home as well, it depends on how long eather can handle the ball and chain, relationships are not suppose to be like that, should feel free and takin at the same, but also respect the other one, hope he ends up with what makes him happy,

No guy would want to be in a relationship with a girl who cant do things with her bf by herself. So i think it is best for them to end the relationship, cause when he goes off to college he will find another gf that can go out with out her parents consent.

If ur friend is the girl then its her fault. As hard as it is to admit somtimes u have bad parents. hes done what he can by sticking around and dealing with that. She got to learn how to have a back bone with her parent and tell them to shutup and back off, if she does that trust me he wont go anywere.

Ugh, another teenager asking a relationship question.
These are temporary relationships that are best avoided. Wait until you are older to real relationships that could be long-term committment-based relationship.

I'll bet you a pizza, it will end next summer, Her parents are too controlling. Unless she's a teenager, that's immoral, bad and wrong. I expereienced that, too. Your friends needs to end it, now and find a new girl friend.

I think the question could be better anwered if he asked it. That way we can get it from his perspective.
