you need to set your alarm clock to its loudest setting, then when you wake up splash cold water in in your face , then you should go for a jog, also eat a healthy breakfast, that should help you wake up.

Hello!

Yes, I was in your boat for many years (bartending/waiting tables). I slept until 3 or 4 PM daily, and I think there were stretches of months at a time when I didn't see the sun (and cursed the early morning songs of the birds). The only way I was able to change this routine was by changing my profession. It was a massive paycut, but at that point my life and sanity became a higher priority than the almighty $$$!
Good Luck with whatever solution you try!

If you get off work at three and don't get to sleep until maybe five am you might need to sleep that late. Figure out what time you need to get up to have 8 hours of sleep. Plan an activity that you look forward to to do first thing. If you want to exercise sign up for a class or get a group to go running together. Something that involves other people will motivate you. If you just try to do someting by yourself it's too easy to go back to sleep. It couldn't hurt to get a physical exam. If you really are sleeping an abnormal amount you might have something going on with your thyroid or your blood sugar levels or your iron or something else. You might need vitamins.

Gosh. Being that you work so late at night, you probably won't be able to get up until after noon anyway. I usually find it hard to wind down after work anyway, so I'm guessing you probably stay up a little later when you get home. Why not just go to a 24-hour gym after work...That's a good time to go anyway, hardly anybody will be there. Or....you could find the time to do it before you go to work. Working out and getting back in shape will help you become more energetic too, which will help you to get up earlier, so just try some different times until you fall into a good schedule for yourself.

I struggle with getting up early as well but i have started exercising and its helped a lot. I am in a class which is nice because you work harder than just working out on your own. Set a goal of how much you want to loose, size you want to be in, or muscle tone you want, etc. Then set a deadline. Find a gym near by so it is convenient and ask about their personal trainers and classes.

Good Luck

Try setting an alarm clock a half hour or 15 minutes earlier every day until you get to the time you need.

I set my alarm 30 minutes before I need to wake up. That way when the alarm goes off it doesnt totally suck. At least I know I can watch TV or go back to sleep for awhile before getting up. I just set a 2nd alarm for when I really need to wake up.

Get 3 or 4 alarm clocks and set them like 2 minutes apart from each other for when to go off and put them in different parts of your bedroom.....that should do the job.....

By three alarm clocks
Put them in 3 different places in ur room, away from ur bed so u have to get up to shut them off.
Therefore you go from one to the next and then to the final and u will be more awake.
If that doesn't work get more.

You have to train your body to sleeping habits. It will be hard but if you make you self get up it will become natural to you and you will get up easier. It depends on when you get to bed! Some people only need 5 hrs some more of sleep. if you go to bed when u get home it may be hard at first but your body will get use to it , then it becomes natural to sleep right away. you will get up earlier. I use to work nights. that's what i did so i would not sleep my day away.
