You are causing the problem by washing your hair too often: you are over stimulating the oil producing glands! Never wash your hair more than twice a week, if possible only wash it once a week.
The next time you wash your hair, instead of using a shop bought conditioner squeeze half a lemon into a cup of warm water, strain it and use this as your final rinse: if it's difficult to get lemons you can use vinegar in the same way(the smell goes within a very short while and is actually better for dark hair, whereas lemon brightens fair hair).
When you wash your hair make sure that you also wash your comb and brush and don't brush your hair too much as this will also stimulate those glands.

All the people that have told you not to wash your hair every day are talking out of their arses. Not washing your hair every day allows oil to build up in your hair making it look even worse. All you need is a good shampoo for greasy hair, try sun-silk fresh for longer it is specially desinged to help greasy hair. Always rinse your hair thoroughly, use conditioner about once a week, and again rinse it really well. Leaving your hair to dry naturally can help too. Hope this helps. X

First of all you are going through puberty, but possibly there is a chance that you are washing it too often. When you wash your hair you are washing away your body's natural oils and therefore your oil glands may be trying to make up for the lost oils....try getting a special shampoo for oily hair and washing every other day, also try to stay away from heavy conditioners, perhaps even consider a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner combo...finally try applying conditioner only to your ends..not the roots where you need it least....hope something works out for you!

Hormones. Teens often have this problem. Also, if you're washing your hair everyday, you should use frequent use shampoo. Use conditioner once a week maximum, and only on the roots. Try not to touch your hair too often during the day as you can transfer oil from your hands to your hair. You could also try cold rinsing your hair after you wash it. This gives it a nice shine but slows the build up of grease during the day.

Your environment could also add to this, e.g. if you're hot and sweaty or working in a fast food shop etc.

It depends on where you live, too. I moved to a city after living near the sea, and I'm now in the same situation as you, having to wash my hair every day. There are shampoos that are adapted for hair (roots especially) that gets greasy quickly. I use a nettle-based shampoo - you could try that.

Try washing your hair daily with a mild shampoo that doesn't contain conditioners - usually labelled 'for oily hair' or 'clarifying' - these products will leave the least amount of residue on your hair. Afterwards, use a very light cream rinse or conditioner on just the ends of your hair (if necessary), and be sure to rinse it out thoroughly. Avoid all products containing silicone, oils or lanolin, as well as two-in-one products - these can be too heavy and oily for fine hair. During the day, comb your hair a few times to help redistribute oils and reduce thin hair's stringy appearance. Or, for a more serious case of oily locks, spritz a little water on your hair and blow-dry it using a comb to remove and redistribute oils - the heat of the dryer will make the oils easier to manipulate. Good luck.

It's your hormones. I went through a greasy phase when I was 15, now I wash my hair every other day (I'm 19).
Try Sunsilk shampoo and leave in conditioner for greasy hair. Or use a clear (not creamy) shampoo, they won't leave a film on your hair. And make sure you avoid your roots with conditioners and styling products.

I would continue to wash it once a day... and when you use conditioner, only use a pea size and only apply it to the end of your hair to even out the snarles. Also, it sounds like you need a balancing shampoo... try Biolage shampoo for oily hair. Biolage works wonders!! Also keep the hair products to a minimum! At this age, the oil is probably the worse for us, just hang in there and consult the salon if none of the answers you get work for you!! Good luck!

Try using Herbal Essence for Oily Hair, and don't use conditioner. I know it's hard, but try not to wash your hair everyday, if you can (I just hide mine under a baseball cap when its super oily).

After I wash my hair, I take a bottle of beer and use it to rinse my hair. It can wash away excess oil, but don't do it more than twice a week, since it can dry your hair out.

When you brush your hair, don't brush for long, and avoid hitting your scalp (your brush can spread oil from your scalp to the rest of your hair).

If your hair is looking a bit oily, throw some baby powder on it, and use a towel to rub the powder into your hair. The powder will absorb some of the oil, and your hair will smell good!

It may be the fact that you wash it too often - it can sometimes make a greasy scalp worse!
Also be careful when applying conditioner to the hair to keep it away from the scalp, and not to overload on styling products.
