1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion....

So that means he doesn't confuse people right? Then why does the Bible say this?

Genesis 11:7-9
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech..... Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth:

1 Corinthians 1:27
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

Why am I even reading this book?

You are not reading the complete Bible that's why you're confused...you're taking everything out of context!..........First of all; (Gen. 11:7-9) is speaking about the Lord confounded their language because of their disobedience!....the people wanted to build a tower to reach heaven and GOD was not going to allow that and mixed up their language!........that's why the tower is called "BABEL"............ Secondaly, "GOD is not the author of Confusion" (1 Cor.14:33)....

Genesis the old testament, first covanent
hard to comprehend at first if you are new at reading the Bible and don't see the point of it, isn't that about divison? Men divide themselves from God by their own choices read the whole book of Genesis

New Testament-second covenant
Corinthians 14.33, with faith it is clear confusion does not come from God it comes from our own minds, ego, other sources that disrupt us from true understanding
Cor. 1:27
confounded mmm consider yourself wise? hehe Really how many folks get overly involved with money, greed, compitation etc all the ego stroking stuff? Is that really the point is it something you can take with you when you die will you crave it on the death bed etc? What really matters?
try reading the book of John and pray before you read the bible for wisdom, knowledge and understanding hey might help right?

People make gods.
Governors and leaders make religions.
Thus, the emperor Constantine made the bible, implied it by force to people. Now, the people, about 50 generations later, they try to understand the so call god sent bible and everyone gets his/ her own impression and understanding!
Thus, the masses are split and fight among each other and the governors continue to govern!

You are reading it so you can come on here and point out all these little verses that make people think or piss people off. Have you found nothing of good use in that book?
