I love my religion and feel pretty good about being one of the millions of Catholics out there.

I'm technically baptised, which means, I suppose, that there's no way out of it for me, but I certainly won't subject my children to it.
The Catholic Church had a monopoly on all religous thought in Western Europe for over 1000 years, so there are some good ideas and good people that came out under the banner of Catholicism, but overall the church is responsible for persecutions, inquisitions, and all sorts of nasty things that I just can't get behind.

Pretty good, most of the time. I wince from time to time whenever our leaders do or say stupid things, but I'm sure it is that way in any organized religious community.
It is the connection with history and the mystery and wonder in the sacraments that I most appreciate - a real awe and reverence becomes possible when you think that God is really there and near at hand.

actually, I am so relieved that I'm not! I'd hate to be so brain washed and manipulated ! Catholicism is a cult, but because it is so old and accepted...it is masked as a real religion! I could go into my reasoning for saying this but I haven't got enough room here!

I was brought up catholic, & I don't really practice too much anymore. I don't agree with some of their beliefs, such as abortion, birth control,etc. but I think that they have the best services.(and prettiest churches too!)

dont have any feeling about it really, except the priest sexually messing with children.thats really not right.but catholics dont seem to care.
