Any interesting "episodes" to tell? My friend had an episode where she just picked up and left her husband to drive to NY with her cat all by herself from Florida. She also spent 3,000 in hotels, restaurants, clothing, etc.

I am bipolar. My craziest episode was obtaining about $4000 in personal loans and to this day I have no idea what I spent it on. I have black outs and cant remember where I have been or what I may have done. Very scarey for me. Now I am having a real hard time paying back this money.

My family has been plagued with bipolar disorder. Most of my relatives have it and so do I. I once went off my medication and became very manic ended up writing a novel (never got published) that now I read it and it was 1200 pages of complete nonsense. I told my friend to read it she also said it made no sense. I had been awake for 2 we ekes and 6 days. Later after a few delusional days I was involuntarily admitted to a psychiatric hospital for 2 months and realized I needed my meds. I have been on meds (incosistantly) since I was 8 years old. I have been hospitalized 18 times and I am now 30. I am now very stable and on my meds agian withe no intention of going off them again.

I was incorrectly diagnosed as being bipolar although I show so many classic symptoms. They had me on lithium which is a very common medication for awhile then took me off of it when they realized that I didn't need it. Now I'm taking depakote which acts as both a medication for bipolar and seizures. I am taking it for the seizures.

I have seen the disease do horrible things to wonderful people.

There is hope:

With medication, bipolar disorder is one of the most treatable mental diseases.

Wow! She was obviously manic. I've seen people excel in excess during manic periods.
