You do not say how you get on with your brother, or if he has a sense of humour! Here is a choice of things on the serious and the fun side.

A newspaper from the day he was born - the Times and one from where he was born. As well as the websites below, there are adverts in the back of the Times and the Telegraph.

Perhaps an original copy of the Beano (or whatever his favourite comic was).

What was his favourite children's toy? Perhaps you could get him a Meccano kit? Either old or new!!!

Have you got any pictures of him as a child or a baby that you can frame?

Does he like sport? Can you get him a guided tour of his favourite football club? Or buy him a print of his favourite F1 driver?

What about having a star named after him?

Found a website that may solve your problem - buyagift.co.uk has lots of ideas - and the prices!!! If it gives you some ideas, you may be able to do them cheaper. I must admit, I liked the idea of a tour of Drury Lane Theatre, and dinner for 2 thrown in. It does not include theatre tickets, though.

Good luck with your search - and I hope I have given you some ideas.

Well, you could always go to poundland! :) But, I would still want to make it worthwhile, something good that you'd be proud of giving to her. Not something really cheap. I guess that's part of the dare, isn't it? Make it an awesome present but still very cheap. So she's like " No way, you cheated!" Well, if so, I suggest make a hamper. Get an old basket, or if she likes food, a lunchbox or container, or if she likes gardening, a pot, etc, etc. Fill it with cookies - homemade - homemade lipgloss and shampoo. Homemade cookies are easy and FREE. Lipgloss is simple. Get a plain lipgloss, like vaseline, melt it in 15 second bursts. When liquid completely, add a teaspoon of a flavoured thing, like fruit juice, cocoa powder or vanilla essence - etc, etc. You can add food colouring if the 'thing' isn't very colourful. However, adding cocoa powder makes it brown. Shampoo is also simple and FREE like the lipgloss. Just mix half a cup of shampoo, any sort (except dandruff ones!), a 3/4 cup of water and a 1/4 teaspoon of table or normal salt. Then add your own oils for scents and softness, and colours ( food colouring works okay). EASY! Then with the £2, go to poundland for 2 more things! Good luck!

Alright Del?! A bottle of aftershave maybe? Or some gift vouchers from a store he's likely to shop at? In my experience, men aren't too fussy when it comes to presents, they tend to open it, look at it, say 'thank you' and then forget about it!

I bought my brother a mixture of lottery tickets and scratch cards. There's always a chance of winning something (or at least the fun hoping)!
