I need to gain about 10lbs in a little less than 2 months to be allowed to play sports next year but I want to know if it will make a big difference in my appearance? Will people all of a sudden notice I gained a lot of weight and look fat?

100 lbs. is too little for a girl of your height. Gaining 10 or 15 pounds will do wonders. You need to realize that most guys like girls with some meat on their bones. Lean is pretty; bony is not.

As a girl who once suffered through bulimia and anorexia, I recognize your fears. It's going to be really hard to regain that weight because half of you won't want to actually put the effort in to do so. But trust me when I say that in the long run, you'll want that weight. Remember that the human body is meant to be lean and strong. People may notice that you've gained weight, but I guarantee you they won't think you're fat. You will not look fat if you start eating more and exercise reasonably. The weight you gain will probably be muscle mass. When I was 10 pounds underweight and then gained the weight in muscle mass, many people including friends and strangers told me how wonderful I looked.

Keep strong and keep eating. Best of luck!

10 pounds isn't A LOT of weight but if you put on just fat then they probably will because you will look more bloated. You can easily put on 10 and look BETTER than you did before. Here's how:

* Cut back on cardio as it will make you lose weight
* Hit the gym every day but do muscule workouts...this won't "bulk you up" instead it will tone you and make you look much better than if you do no muscule workouts. Use either free weights or nautalis whichever is available
* Drink protien shakes and eat more protien this will help add more muscule weight which weighs more than fat does. The more protien the better.

If you need any more help let me know. My husband is a body builder/personal trainer and I myself am active duty Army so we know a little about fitness ;)

10lbs is not hard to gain-depending on what you do to gain it, and on your genetics!

10lbs does make a difference in appearance if you gained "fat" vs. "muscle" gain.

Depending on what you eat now, if you want to do this the healthy way..you need to eat alot of PROTEIN-food in alot of meats and fish. And of course--the unhealthy--eat ALOT of junk food(fast food, candy, heavy carbs, cakes, and pretty much anything sweet!)

or you can hit some weights in the gym(or home) which I recommened-and since you have 2 months. Gaining muscle weight, however, will make a difference on the scale, but not noticable to the eye. You are simply defining yourself, and since "muscle" weighs more than "fat", it will be easier to gain-if you eat right.

Another suggestion, if you DO NOT gain weight easily by the following two methods, I would suggest taking a "weight gainer" supplement. (Provided that you are old enough-or your parents let you take it).

Any of these methods will help, but remember, it depends on your hereditary genetics.
Ex: If you can eat alot of junky, fatty foods, and NEVER gain weight....then you have GOOD genetics....which means, you are going to need to do something quick to put on those pounds.

Hope I could help you out a little....and best of luck!

10 pounds is pretty trivial. I wouldnt worry about it, and the fact that you need to gain 10 to play sports means you got a long ways to go to look "fat" even if you gained 30 and stay healthy you wouldnt look fat.

Depends. How tall are you? The taller you are, the less a little weight gain affects how you look.

i think of it relies upon on the place many of the load will circulate. as quickly as I earnings weight some will circulate to my abdomen yet usually to my thighs. human beings distribute their weight in any different case so i do no longer comprehend the way it could be for you. although gaining 10 lb of muscle as adversarial to fat are completely countless issues. in my view, i do no longer think of you may look thicker, in simple terms like your self yet a tad chunkier

Yes it will make a large difference in your appearance. You won't look fat if you are that much underweight.
