Yeah! You can give them money and is very much appretiated.

I say, put it in a costumary taiwanese red envelope (I'm sure they'll love the detail and your heritage touch).

The rule of thumb is to give the cost of the plate plus some. I'll say $ 75 -100 dollars is an appropiate and generous amount to give.

Yes, some Americans do. I prefer to give gifts as I think the thought in taking the time to shop is worth more than a money gift. I feel the same, for the most part, receiving gifts.

Usually, I would recommend buying the couple something off of their registry, but since you are coming in from overseas, money may actually be a good bet for you. Easier to travel with than a gift. : )

Money is a very popular gift to give for weddings, all you do is put in with the wedding card and envelope. I usually give $50.

Yes, Americans usually give money as a wedding gift. I live in Philly, and the going rate is about $100-$150. Put it in a card seal it up and you are ready to go!

Money is ALWAYS a good gift. $50 - $100 is generous. If you can afford more, go right ahead. Someone already mentioned the red envelope - that would be a nice touch.

Yeah absolutely. My cousins live in Canada. We send them money here from North Carolina. All over Canada they are able to transfer the money to Canadian bills. But also many stores and places accept American money too.
