how do you get really soft hair?

Soak it in Almond oil over night a few times a week and wash it the next morning. This totally helps!

Don't use a lot of chemicals on it such as perms, straighteners etc. Do a hot oil treatment at least once a month. Put the hot oil on and wrap your hair in a towel for about 30 minutes to let it soak in. Rinse and your hair should be ultra soft!!!! Careful that your hair dryer isn't too hot. Let your hair air dry as often as possible.

deep condition your hair with Aveda damage conditioner and then use Redkens conditioner as a leave in conditioner. (I don't think Redken makes a leave in but this stuff -the All Soft- really works)
-after reading what everyone else is telling you, I will inform you that the products I have suggested are expensive. Hey, you get what you pay for.

Use a really good conditioner like Redken All Soft. When I use this product, my hair is really soft after I blow dry it.

Use garnier fructis they have really good shampoos and conditioners that make your hair soft, there are different types of shampoo for different types of hair

Use a moisturizing shampoo, heavy conditioner, BLOW DRY with round brush and then use a shine product like Biosilk Silk Therapy......

when u wash ur hair use conditioner. then to keep it soft, blow dry it when u r done

use pantene pro-v it make your hair so soft and silky
of course if you super shiny and silky you need the one with extra moisturizer
the one for "coloured hair" is great

use dove shampoo and conditioner leave conditioner in for 3 min. then rinse
