Someone just said it's okay for God to kill babies, because they're innocent and go to heaven..."lucky babies." (why doesn't this apply to abortion?)

So I think a Christian would protect his/her everlasting soul before protecting an earthly life...or lives. There are so many permutations that I think would prove most Christians inconsistant. Would a C kill one innocent person to save two? Would a C kill him/herself to save any # of people? Would a C kill him/herself to save thier own child? Would a C blaspheme God to save # of people, own life, child's life? Just trying to feel you guys out...

Nope...C's won't do any of them. Killing others and themselves is a sin. Blasphemy is a sin. Can't do it.
They can pray. And hold bingo/fundraising events. That's it. That's the key to paradise. Look at the worlds problems, pray, and go play bingo.

The almighty God that created the heavens and the earth is far above all man's wisdom. Where the wisest of all men wisdom stops that is where the foolishness of God begins. In other words in him there is no foolishness. If the soul of a man is save, the man has eternal life that is part of God in him. That means this earthly life has a time frame, it might be short or long it does not matter but eternal life has no time frame associated with it.
Abortion is a deliberate murder and it is not the same dead.
Why is it wrong to commit murder is it because the person is walking the face of the earth and the other is not given a chance to walk that one is wrong and the other right. There is a supernatural force that rule over the affairs of men and even give them conscience

I personally believe (you can reject it or accept it) that no bad action is justified. If a C was in a situation that seemed like a lose-lose, then he/she should pray to G and let him handle it. Basically, we are expected to love God and treat others with love. If we stick to that, then there wouldn't be any complication.

But the baby thing is a complex situation. Because no one can go to heaven without believing in Jesus and a baby is too young for that. But it would be cruel to not give that baby a chance because some woman didn't want to use a condom or abstain (except for those who were victims of rape, you can ignore that last phrase). Just trust in God and accept His guidance.

Well in a sense yes we believe the soul is eternal and life on earth is not.

however, you are wrong in saying that there is a limit to protecting life. It is precisely because we believe a person to be holy because his body and soul are eternal tht we would go to great lengths to serve that person. moreso than a pessimist who denies the body and soul's eternal life and merely think the person is a hollow vessel with no point to his life.

Christian theology is not sure what happens to babies who die. It is a mystery. we know that all humans are born with original sin, but we are not sure if Jesus forgives them because they haven't rebelled against God. It is not to say that babies don't go to heaven, but we cannot say if they do or don't. We just trust that God is good and whether a baby dies from abortion or anyother reason, this child is in the loving hands of God.

Remember that our everlasting soul cannot be killed. Protecting our soul over our life is not quite how you hypothesize. Our soul is in danger if we commit sin. So, yes, ideally we would not commit sin even if it cost our life.

But I will indulge your permutations:

1)Would a C kill one innocent person to save two?

This is a simplified question. We are taught not to kill. It is a sin. but we are taught that self-defense which would otherwise result in lethality would be a grave circumstance where it is not sin to protect yourself should that ultimately end in the attacker dying. So if some person had me put a knife to the throat of my brother or else he would kill my mom and dad. i would not kill my brother. My soul is at stake. It is not selfish however, because it lies in the underlying reason why my soul is at stake. It is at stake because if I kill my brother then I do not love him. It is entirely unselfish. It would be sin to kill my brother and I do not want to wrong him and God in such a way. It is unfortunate the scenario that we are in, but if this person goes on to kill my parents it is not my fault. I did not create the scenario and made to play the part I was forced into. The sin is on the killers heart and my parents would be living in Heaven. I would of course grieve because of the tragedy and loss. but this choice was out of love. the other choice would only being treating the humans as numbers and using math to figure out the morality.

but the other scenario might be that I have a knife to the murderer's throat who has a my mom and dad in a position where he can kill them. this is a tough one. Since this attacker would sin if I do not prevent it, yet the only way to prevent it is by killing. I have to admit this is a very difficult question, but I perhaps see that whether I decide to kill or not kill there can be justification if my heart is in the right place. Recognize this is a tough one to answer and I may not have done it adequately.

2)Would a C kill him/herself to save any # of people?
I would not kill myself, but if I may lay down my life to save then that is Christ-like. However, I will assume you choose the tougher issue and tht being I am unable to just lay down my life. I must take my own life. I know not the answer. I would pray at that moment and seek God's will. That is the best I can do.

3)Would a C kill him/herself to save thier own child?

I see this ideally should be the same as #2. while my child may obviously include more emotion and such, I still see it as a life for a life. Theologically I do not know the answer as I said above.

4)Would a C blaspheme God to save # of people, own life, child's life?

I would not blaspheme God to save lives. but you must understand that I love God above all else. you may think this an abomination because you do not believe in God, so then I am causing death for no reason. However, I do not believe God would abandon either group. Ultimately, life is temoral and is not the golden calf that your questions imply. As you are seeking, the answer is that the soul is worth more than the life. Death is a certainty of this life, but does not have to be your lot eternally. I would rather give others the chance to live eternally than give them a few more years to live on earth.

But in all these situations you must admit that they are constructed to almost twist a Christian's response into an abomination of inhumanity. But Christians believe our humanity goes far beyond the life we have not.

Very very good questions. I would like to know your thoughts. How you have 'felt us out' in all this. You are welcome to email me. I am always up for a respectful conversation.

They are one and the same.

Death of the flesh is not death of the entity that dwelt there.

Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Pro 6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Pro 6:21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

Christians are called to not fear. To not hold their life above doing God's will. If you are living a fearless life, you realize that God is in control of your life. And in saying that ,a Christian would realize that their own life is not their own. They cannot take their own life.

Thou shalt not kill is not how the commandment reads in the original language..... It says "thou shalt not Murder".

This seems like a fairly unconvincing argument in light of the tens of thousands of unborn children murdered every year under the "freedom of choice" beliefs held by many of our over educated liberal hate mongers.

Not only Christianity, many other religions too. This doesn't have as much to do with religion as it does with spirituality.
