A man was peacefully walking when out of the darkness three jackbooted thugs are running at you firearms drawn and ordering you to stop. while pissing your pants.you are thinking oh no I pissed my pants! and while running crap, is sliding out of your pants as well. and akin to a train hitting you down you go tackled to the ground, head slammed into the pavement, the full weight of three heavyweights on your back, then a hidden punch to the groin for good measure. I feel no matter what the guy did, he did not deserve that kind of treatment! was he guilty until proven innocent? oh sure unless he was pointing a weapon which would justify that treatment or worse. I believe contempt of individual rights are violated here. I would not just stand there I would give true reason(or charged with reason) for being attacked like that. it is completley intolerable, and unexcuseable for any officer to be above the law.

An officer is responsible to use only the minimum amount of force as needed to apprehend a suspect up to and including deadly force in certain situations. If a person was noted with a weapon earlier by a witness but at the time of arrest no weapon is visible the officers still must consider the suspect as dangerous until no danger is found. Not all "Jackbooted" Officers are and unless you were there to witness the whole incident you might want to remember that TV only shows what it wants for dramatic effect. Most Police will only act in a threatening manor when there is a possibility for violence or where violence has already occurred. To give you an example, If you have a dog that is gentle and loving to you but out of your sight bites anyone it can the dog is still dangerous no mater what you see of that dog... People are not dogs, and in most cases dogs wont revert to violence unless it is threatened, sick or badly hurt... Humans are much more capable of violence with little less provocation...

those cop shows?! first off you sound like an ex-con or future inmate. first off no cops just have guns drawn, running and beat up, as you said, a peacefully walking man, there's no such thing. if your not guilty then why run in the first place. smart thing to do is get your *** down on the ground and you won't get hurt.
here's a tip for ya, if cops are running in a group of 3 or more their in search of 1 or more persons that have committed a serious crime. the sooner they catch them the safer you are on the streets. you obviously didn't watch the whole show and missed the part of a description given and why that individual was wanted. also if the cops were advised of the suspect being armed and dangerous.
in that simple mind of yours do you not think that someone can have a botched up robbery, kill people, grab the cash, ditch the gun and peacefully walk down a sidewalk as if nothing happened? if your answer is no, then you got alot to learn about criminals.
instead of bitching about the men and women police officers and your believing in contempt of individual rights being violated. ***** about the gang bangers and their drive-by shootings that are killing innocent kids in their own homes and front yards. ***** about the men and women that molest/rape/murder young boys, girls and elderly women.
if you want to learn something about the laws, crimes and criminals, talk to a police officer but if you want to meet a real thug visit or live in a prison.

Well let me see, three police officers with probable cause or a warrant see thier suspect. They have thier guns out, so that means that they have good cause on record that the person is guilty of a armed felony or has a history of being armed.

The suspect instead of putting up his hands and giving up, starts to run ( so how are they going to stop him, a school crossing guard maybe) So they tackle him,

I see proper police procedure against a possible dangerous suspect who did not have enough sense to give up but decided to run.

You alluded to it was ok if he was pointing a weapon; your quote was:

"oh sure unless he was pointing a weapon which would justify that treatment or worse."

That part is incorrect. If he was pointing a weapon they'd have shot him dead. They aren't in this to die seeing if the weapon is loaded or not.

As for the treatment the pure issue is his running. I three "jack booted thugs" come running at you yelling stop, police, freeze whatever....you STOP. If you decide to run you get tackled...its that plain and simple.
