Beware, as a PPA Certified Professional Photographer (retired) I find it unimaginable that a true Master Photographer could not easily produce proof of this. In fact he probably would not see a prospective client without it.

Over the years I have seen photographic organizations come and go. Several of these have offered all types of photographic certification certificates that you could just purchase and others had such basic requirements that almost anyone with a camera could easily become a certified photographer. If he doesn’t have proof don’t hire him. I would not only question if he was truly a master photographer but also if the portfolio that he was showing me was truly his work. If he was to lie about one thing then what else might he lie about.

The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is a worldwide association and one of the largest (if not the largest) and most respected photographic originations in the world. Members can earn degrees including Master of Photography. To achieve Master of Photography through the PPofA you truly have to prove you are a master. You can check there web site for a list of there Master Photographers.

Why do you have to have a Master photographer any way? There are many photographers out there that are truly masters of the art but are not certified as Masters of Photographer. Check references and portfolios.

The title of Master Photographer could have been issued by anyone. Master Photographer is many times a meaningless title (as are most others) issued by one of the various clubs and institutions that the photographer PAYS.

Some people like all of those titles and will actually spend more time acquiring them then they do on their art.

Look at the photographer's portfolio to see if his/her style suits your needs. It is all fairly simple.

If you give me a lil more information on him (full name and address) i can find out for you without a problem.

I belong to a couple of international photography orgizations and I'm sure someone will be able to give me an answer. If he's a Master photographer, he'll have gotten the Master certification from some where. (you can also ask him where he get's the title from)
