Why are people so retarded? Considering most people on here are American, don't they teach English in American schools?

They think typin like dis is kool. I'm on your side. I think it's retarded how people use "u" "r" and other acronyms. It takes like... what? THREE SECONDS to type the whole word?

Most are not "retarded." Too many are ignorant of grammar and spelling. In answer to your last question, there is an attempt, but a lot of students don't get enough reinforcement of language skills from parents, music, movies, and TV!

3 things:
* English is a second language to many on this site
* Phone Text messages has spawned a generation that uses short cuts
* There are plenty of guys that ain't hot **** at grammar and just don't care cos they are only on here for a laff

First of, Brand Name User, english is actually one of the hardest languages to learn, because there are so many exceptions to every rule...it makes it more complitcated.
Anyways, answering the question, it's just people being lazy, and alot of them arent good typists, so they look for short cuts...

what I've noticed is that people, foreign people, who speak English poorly also type that way as well. Like they'll spell out English like e-n-g-r-i-s-h. funny when you think about it. Considering our language is probably the easiest to learn, I can't see why people, American people even, can't type out what they mean either. Computer illiterate, retarded, just lazy who knows. your guess is as good as mine.

1)immigrants might not know proper english
2)most American people don't care about their spelling
3)I use proper grammer at all times when typing or writing.

clearly you don't understand the concept of p-h-o-n-e-t-i-c-s. Also simply because one is American, doesn't mean that their native/dominant language is English.
