Recent studies have shown a heat spike occurred during the 21 century. The main reason is human activity, which we all know what they are. Do you think Earth will end up like Mars in the future? If you think about it, carbon dioxide has increased in the last couple years. The atmosphere is getting weaker causing more sun light. Also increase in hurricanes which are more violent. If you compare this to the environment on Mars you find quiet a bit of similarities. Is this possible or am I worrying too much.

While there might be similarities, I don't think that the earth will end up like Mars. We are in a cool period in the earth's history, the temperature has gone up before and eventually it will go back down. Sorry, but the ocean is going to eventually rise no matter what we do, it's a matter of how fast due to our pollution. But in maybe 10,000 years, it will go back down and maybe eventually we'll have a real ice age.

That's all if that asteriod doesn't hit the earth in 2028, which is a real possibility. We won't have to worry about global warming if we're already dead...

The Earth will be swallowed up or heated up beyond the tolerance of living beings by the expanding Sun between 50 to 100 Million years from now. But life shall be badly affected long before that. And Global warming has started already and will continue to affect the earth in many ways - perhaps making it more like Venus where the surface temperatures are in the 500 degrees C range . This is because what will happen on earth is :-
1. the content of Carbon Di Oxide in the atmosphere will increase to high levels due to cumbustion on the earth.
2. The lungs of the earth - the forests who convert CO2 to oxygen are being depleted at a staggaring rate so the CO2 content of the atmosphere has no control
3. The albido of the atmosphere will change. Light rays containg heat energy will be deflected away from the earth at a decling rate and will reach the stage of total internal refraction.
4. The oceans will heat up more. Then the oceans will breathe - they will exhale dissolved Carbon Di Oxide and further burden the atmosphere.
5. The earth will become a furnace like Venus. The rising oceans will cover more and more land.
6. The earth as we know it will cease to exist.
7. Algae and anaerobic bacteria will flourish. Hot wet forests will cover the land where there is not sea. The balance of nature will counteract the global warming.
8. The ice age will commence.
And the cycle will repeat till the Sun enters the Red Giant phase and swallows up the earth.
9. Then the sun will be a cold dwarf since it will not collapse into a black hole as it is well below the Chandrashekhars Limit in mass and size.
10. Man will then probably again visit the earth to mine it for its rare earths.
Amen

Mars' atmosphere is 100 times thinner than Earth's and Mars is farther from the Sun, so it is much colder than Earth. Venus' atmosphere is 90 times thicker than Earth's and Venus is closer to the Sun, so it is much hotter than Earth. Both Venus and Mars have atmospheres composed of almost 100% CO2. Earth's atmosphere is composed of 0.035% CO2, and people are worried because it has gone up from the 0.027% that it was before we started burning so much coal and oil. So no, Earth will never become like Mars or Venus.

We should be driving steam-powered cars, and trains too. That would help alot to slow what is happening. Then, we really need to enforce the regulations to stop de-forestation (most places are not going by the rules, but no one is enforceing anything) But, if nothing changes yes, that could happen, or maybe just enough to wipe us out, then the earth could heal itself and a new dominant species would take over. But, relax a little it shouldn't happen in your lifetime.
