that are formatted in very rough slang? I was trying to read one question and I thought my mind was going to blow up. How can you understand what the heck they are saying? I hope that is not the way they write or type in school.

I don't think it is as much rough slang as it is poor grammar and poor spelling.

And sometimes the questions are worded in such a bizarre, non-sensical way, that it is not possible to comprehend what the person is trying to ask. And some are asking for 600 pages worth of explanation in a paragraph i.e. What is the meaning of life, and what is the entire history of the theory of evolution vs. creationism.

I do admire the fact that you don't use slang, I also try not to use it whenever possible.

However, I've been using computers since I was 5, so computer slang is second nature to me, I have no problems reading it. In your case, just read it slowly and I'm sure you'll pick up some of the phrases.

No, they don't write this way in school, for the simple reason that there is, de facto, no writing in school. There is training on the use of computers, of course, but not much in the way of training in composition, spelling, grammar, or anything else, for that matter. Who knows what they ARE teaching; how great it is to have different colors of people, or how everyone a winner, etc. gets my vote.

Fully 72% of H.S. graduates in 1998 were functionally illiterate; God knows what it is now.

I really hate when people type in slang because it makes them look so ignorant and uneducated. I can't believe sometimes the words they can miss spell. It must be considered "Cool" because so many of them are doing it. What is sad is that alot of the type EVERYTHING that way. They can't even create correct sentences.

If I can't understand the question I just put "huh?" as my answer and collect the two points. If it is a serious question, but worded very poorly with a lot of misspellings, etc. Rather than leave a stupid, non-serious answer, I just skip to the next question.

You've just got to try the best you can or move on to the next one. Remember that those questions are written by the people who need your help the most.

it's very easy. Don't try to understand. It will only make you crazy. I don't. Just try to figure out what these people are saying and answer it the best way you can.

Just try and relax and go for the phonics. It is a lazy persons way of not spelling correctly.

If they are not intelligent enough to write the question, what makes you think they'll understand the answer anyway? If it isn't in English; don't bother.
