It's yucky but works wonders, mix lime juice, vinegar and salt in a small cup and warm it a bit. Gargle with it every 2 hours and the sore is gone (if you don't have strep, of course).

While studying music (voice) in university, I would wrap my throat with a scarf and drank lemon juice religiously... If you can't handle it alone - boil water and mix half and half with a drop or two of honey... it really works wonders!

Also, celery sticks and carrot sticks (without the dip) work well too. They hurt a bit going down though.

This method is sworn by. Take an onion and an apple, chop them up and put in two cups of water. Boil for an hour or so and drink the liquid. It smells bad and tastes bad but it works.
