Food wise maybe after a year. Dogs don't fully mature until around 18 months to 2 years.

I agree with most everyone else, one year.
The biggest thing about having a pit bull is to make sure that it is socialized. It is imperative that they are subjected to different animals and a variety of people when they are puppies and young adults to make them be able to be part of society.
A person or animal mean pit bull should NOT be tolerated. They are too strong and too powerful. And I am a pit bull advocate. There is in my opinion, no other dog as beautiful and powerful or smart as a pit bull.
But they MUST be raised as a family member. They MUST be raised around children and I mean other children, not just your own. I have had many pits and the worst ones were the ones who were not socialized. That is IMPERATIVE!!!

They say a dod ages 7 times faster than a human so I would think 3. As far as them being full grown and ready for adult food that is more around 1 year.

Their joints continue to form til a year and a half, if i'm not mistaken. No, pulling weights until then. Being they are a larger breed, it doesn't hurt to feed them puppy food until 2 years old.
