Starbucks is awsome! Although it isnt really healthy for you. A load of calories come in every drink. Some drinks usually have enough calories for a meal or MORE!

Starbucks, in my opinion, is bad. Starbucks has capitilized on the small cafe feel many local coffee shops offered before this Big Business moved into town. While Starbucks does open up job opportunities and offer benefits a "mom & pop" coffee shop might not, the prescence of these mutli-store chains can have an adverse effect on local coffee shops, diners, and bakeries.
Additionally, the coffee is overpriced and not all that great for your health, as new studies are indicating.

I love Starbucks. I got to about 3-4 different ones a day, depending on where I am. I like the fact that I will be able to get the same drink wherever I go, and there's always on conveniently located on every block downtown (I live in Chicago). Plus the coffee tastes good, it's the only kind of coffee I brew at home.

By displaying such terribly aggressive and dumb approach towards other businesses, Starbucks only confirms its reputation of a greedy cafe concept with low quality beverages. Just its over roasted drip coffee is enough to start drinking good beer.

I say: Starbucks Good
They have managed to make themselves successful, and you can find them everywhere. We even have one in MY town, which doesn't even have a movie theater. Pathetic, I know. I say "CHEERS" to them for being so successful
And to refute the opposing opinion of "bad corporation, you put people out of business!!"
THAT IS WHAT BUSINESS IS. I don't mean to sound like a heartless jerk, because yeah it is sad when the little mom and pop stores have to close down because they can no longer compete. But that is what business is : a competition. If you can't keep up, you are out of the game. Simple as that.
If they charged "too much" for coffee that tasted bad, then they wouldn't be where they are today. Obviously enough people liked it enough to put them in every city.
I think their coffee is okay. If they offered more smoothies I think they could make even more money.
**Have you seen Lewis Black's 1/2 hour spot on comedy central? He states that he knows the world is ending because he found a starbucks across the street from another starbucks. heehee. He's funny.

Starsucks is terrible. Not only do they charge too much, they also shut out the cool unique independant coffee houses that support local art and music as opposed to albums *specially made* for starbucks to cash in on.

I don't care for Starbucks. The coffee tastes burnt, and it's pretty pricey. I do like their Frappachinos, though. I'm mostly a Dunkin' Donuts person.

Okay................ so before I moved from the USA (I'm a US citizen) to Canada I used to think Starbucks was way over rated. Way, way over rated. They don't offer really good coffee, it's more like they offer people "self-esteem"............ "Oh, I am somebody because I have given an order to someone to make me a ridiculous tasting drink, that I have NO IDEA what it is, but who cares? I am me and I have given someone an "order". Anyway............., there is a chain of coffee houses up here called Tim Horton's..................... OMG............ you talk about s h i t t y tasting coffee. NOW............ I will drink Startbucks any day of the week. But just a cup of decaf, please. "I" don't need to be stroked.

I vote bad, the coffee sucks, the service is even worse, and yet assembly line businesses like that always manage to swoop in and choke out home town mom & pop places

I only buy the Organic Mexican shade grown beans and take them home and grind them myself. I find them to taste better than the sun and chemical grown ones and it helps preserve the rain Forrest's and the small farmers in Mexico. I noticed a big difference in the taste, its very fresh and not bitter. You do have a choice of organic cream or soy milk too if you buy a coffee there.AND, they give you a FREE cup of plain or iced coffee with every bag of coffee you buy!
