give your brother some time to cool off. It sounds like it hurt and it's easy to understand why your brother is mad.
After you give him some time (maybe as much time as a day or two) tell your brother how sorry you are. He might be mad, but he is your brother and eventually it will work out and be okay. Just don't force him to talk to you until he is ready.
It is very serious to hit somebody in anger - it doesn't matter who that person is. If you find that you often want to hit someone or if this ever happens again - go to your school counselor and talk to him or her. Learning how to control your anger is a very important step to becoming an adult.

First try your best to impress him. For example buy him a gift or take him to the movies. Try to let him know you are sorry in a discreet way. But if that doesnt work you can always go with default which is apologizing.

You really do need to apologize.
You don't have the right to put your hands on another human being, like that.
Stuff happens and people change. What if something happened in his sleep and that was your VERY LAST memory of him?
Keep your hands off him, bully. Do anything you can to make it up to him.

Bring him a bag of ice. It will show him that you are sorry and help relax him enough to accept your apology. Then say that you didn't mean to hit him so hard and try to talk it out.

First off how old are you? Tell him you are sorry and explain to him that you were wrong and didn't mean to do what you did (which I hope you didn't) and make sure he knows that you really are sorry.

Don't sweat it. He'll forgive you eventually. He probably deserved it.
Ya gotta set boundaries and let him know what will happen when he crosses the boundary.
Tell him it's his own fault and demand he apologize for forcing you to hit him.

I honestly feel that you and your brother should attend a family counseling session at your local mental health center. You should apologize to your brother and also refrain from putting your hands on him.

Admit you were wrong. Then, tell him why you lost your temper. Then, tell him you are sorry, and it will NEVER happen again. And, if it does happen again, you need to get some help with your anger management.
