I'm sure that this is a joke, but the subject is still serious

If you give somebody money, then they can and will choose what to do with it. There choice regardless of what they told you. You should not be upset or even suprised.

If you really want to help and make then you can do things that are harder (but usually not impossible) to abuse (for example, buying the hamburger yourself and giving that to the hungry person)

You should never feel cheated by trying to help someone. If you give someone money for anything never question how they use it.
If you feel the person would have been better off with a hamburger, next time buy him a hamburger, or an apple, or a loaf of bread.

I'd bought one guy a meal and watched him throw it away. So many whine about how tough it is and how uncaring people are it's irritating. Some are truly in a temporary bad spot and when I have it I don't mind helping. But to buy someone food and have them walk around the corner and throw it away - you can bet I remembered him and he never got anything again.

Hitting him would only make you less of a human, plus you could wind up in jail. If you see him again go to the closest store and purchase for him....like a can of spam, beans, a gallon of water, a bar of soap,a disposable razor and a two liter drink. Its sounds crazy but YOU will get more out of the kindness than he will.

If you were homeless and no longer capable of getting a job (very hard to get a shower or any clean clothes, much less nice clothes for a job interview) wouldn't you like a drink or two to forget about things for a while. I don't fully agree with what he did, but he doesn't deserve a beating for it.

No, you should ignore the bums and try to use that three bucks for a better cause, a REAL charity

No. I run into this all the time, it seems. I give out gift certificates to fast food restaurants. The food's not particularly good or healthy, but it's better than nothing, and they don't sell alcohol.

Just don't give them any money in the future. If you feel the need to give, give to a charity. Ignore the guys on the street.

thats your fault, everybody knows that they buy wine, beer ect, with the money they ask for.these people on the side of the road, that hold up signs, will work for food.what would happen, if you told one of them, you would pay them to do some things around your house, they would think you was crazy.

they ask us for gas money, so my husband says o-k...show me where the car is and ill take it to the gas station and well fill it up on my card.....they usually say something like....o dint worry about it... just give me cash and ill get it myself. after insisting so much that well put it on the card they give up knowing that they wont be getting any money for crack or whatever it is that people are doing these days
