you were ahead of your time... abstract art ,,didn't you know that ...then the adults stepped in and structured your thinking taking away the fun they even expected you to color within the lines.... that's when things got boring.... you lost your creativity i love seeing kids coloring red skies with blue clouds

It's called "thinking outside the box" (or cloud in this case. lol.). I find that the more I watch the kids in my class the more I realize how smart and creative they really are. I also have noticed that they tend to see the world a little backwards. for example, as children learn to write, they draw al curvy letters backwards at first. They also do this with the letter E. Anyway, stay creative.

That is because it is easier to leave the page white and color in clouds with blue instead of coloring the whole blank page blue.

sky is something general . and clouds are parts of that . very young kids think about everything in general ,not in details. In the onwards , that general object is known before hands . and there are some details which need to be clarified by coloring them , focusing on them , etc.

My reason was......I didn't want to waste my time filling the whole white paper in with blue! so I would draw blue clouds! It boosts your creativity to draw things different colors!
