First get a good flea shampoo from your vet. Three days after a good bath start a monthly treatment of Frontline. If you let them get bad you could end up with an infested house. I would also chech with a lawn care company about having your yard sprayed with Tal-Star. It kills several different insects including fleas and makes a huge differance in normal creepy crawlers around the house. If you end up with them in your house only buy flea bombs from your vet, Wal-Mart stuff is a waste of money.

eeekkkk!
Get rid of them NOW!!
Advantage/Advantix is the best! A good bath and a shave then dot that stuff on him ASAP! I beg you, DO NOT use any flea products from Hartz....they are in a few lawsuits for people losing their animals because they are poisoned by it. Call any vet in your area for advice if you want it. Fleas are hard to get rid of in your house too!! gotta bomb it, vaccum, change the bag in your vaccum and probably bomb it again! Get some spray for your yard that is safe for him but not the fleas...if he spends any time outside, he's getting em there. Zodiac makes a product you can dust on your floor, let sit for a bit then vaccum up. WORKS GREAT just make sure you don't have any kids or pets around for a bit and toss your vaccum bag!! Good luck and Petsmart does flea dips~which are best!!

Use spot on or stripe on flea treatments such as frontline, advantix, advantage, biospot. Never use hartz. http://hartzvictims.org/
Then for your house, buy a flea collar, cut a piece off and and put the piece in your vacuum cleaner bag or canistar and store the rest of the collar in a baggy for next time. That way any flea or bug u suck up will die from the flea collar. You will want to vacuum atleast twice a day.

Give your dog a bath with a tick/flea shampoo several days in a row. This will help get rid of them on the pet. If he's getting them from the yard, you may have to treat your yard as well.

First check him to see if he has bugs on him, it could just be allergies. My dog itches all the time but doesn't have fleas because he has allergies. If he does have bugs then, Give him a bath and put frontline on him.

use garlic, it is both good for your dog and keeps the fleas away. using chemical stuff like frontline is a bad idea, garlic is by far your best bet. go to you nearest health place and buy garlic capsules (they are odourless), pop them in the dogs food and he/she will eat them. the garlic goes in to the animals blood stream and the fleas and ticks etc don't like it.
not to mention that this way is much cheaper!!
