My dog has them also, they are called hot spots, easily treatable, go to your local pet store or co-op and get somthing called cool spot, it will help. If it does not work, ask a vet.

It could be so many things but the most common is usually an allergy...especially at this time of year. This calls for a visit to the vet to find out what is really going on.

well my little yorkie had what started like a scab and then became a bold-spot ,took her for a skin-scrape.it was ringworm ,which is very contagious,to humans and other dogs.if not ringworm could be bacteria,,or fungus.anyways would have a vet to do a skin-scrape to rule out anything that could be contagious..ciao Nicki

I have a puppy with the same problem also, hers ir a skin condition. She was rescued and it was caused by lice but there are several other causes. The mange is a common reason also and is not from being dirty like most people think.

It sounds like ringworm. You should see a vet asap, if is ringworm the treatment is fairly involved (you've got to clean all bedding, dust, air vents) - will spread to humans and cats too.

Could be ringworm. Have a vet check it out, probably something that a little ointment will take care of.

That happened to a dog we had - she had developed allergies (possibly even to grass or fleas) - that could be it.
