THANK YOU!!! I totally agree. How dare those parents try to sue a website for their shoddy parenting! If they had her passport locked up, kept up with where she surfed, and were more involved in her life, then she wouldn't have been able to get that far.

I saw that on the news last night, that Myspace is being sued for 30 million dollars by a 14 year old. I'm disgusted. You know, maybe if parents didn't let their young teenage children post pictures of themselves in underwear, and actually supervised their kids, this wouldn't happen. I don't know how Myspace could possibly be at fault for some dumb kid meeting someone she met online and getting sexually assaulted. There is a thing called "common sense", and I know that kids have a hard time with that, but come on. There's also something called "blatant stupidity". And that's what that is. How many times have people been told how to protect themselves online? I wish people would take more personal responsibility, instead of suing someone just so they don't have to be the one who was wrong. Who agrees with me?

Because its easier to blame some outside source than for someone to admit they are a crappy parent. If you cant control what your kids are doing on the net..then shut it off. She should have been supervised by her PARENTS!! IT is not Myspace's fault that her parents chose to let her get online and talk to strangers(for probably hours online) THEN her mom goes and gets her pics take for her passport...and doesn't ask any questions??? I think charges should be brought against the parents..and they should have to pay all the money back that our govt had to spend to get that girl back into the states!!

I am totally with you on this one! It is so sad that in our country people will find anyone or anything to blame for their children's behavior. Instead of blaming everyone else, we should be working hard to teach our children right from wrong, good values, respect, responsibility, etc. Of course kids will be kids, but it is getting way out of hand because kids have no line to stop at anymore and no consequence when they cross a line. Other then how I raise my child, I wish I could do more to change this in our society!

I have been wondering this for days. This isnt a myspace problem, its a lack of parenting problem. I fail to see how my space is responsible for the mom not knowing where her daughter was going. Parents need to step up and take responsibility for their children and admit when they (the parents) make mistakes.

Could not have said it better.
Its just easier for parents to put the blame elsewhere, rather than looking in the mirror. Its pathetic and sad!

People would rather blame myspace than find a fault in themself. Myspace didn't do anything; their child did.

Why raise your kids properly when you can just blame MySpace? It's pathetic I know, but it's the world we live in.
