Best thing to do for a Veteran is to say Thank You and shake their hand for their service. I am a Prior Service Female Marine and very proud of that fact, tear still comes to my eyes when someone thanks me. Also, I am an active member of my local American Legion, which we do services for our past and present Veterans, so, look up in your area what kind things happen in your community and say thank you to others.

Veteran's Day is not the only day to thank a Veteran. Anytime you see one you should shake his or her hand and tell them how much you appreciate their service.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

The nicest thing anyone did for me on Veteran's Day is when my ex wife's cousin told his third grade class, and they all sent me home made cards and said thank you. But it's also really nice when anyone walks up and says thank you. I appreciate it.

if they own a home.plant a tree in their front yard.. Take them to Dinner.... Give them a Flag.. but most of all THANK them for the sacrifice they made... when ever i see a man or woman that has served befer.. i make a point of going up to them and giving them a hug and a hand shake and just tell them THANK YOU... you wouldn't believe how many just start crying cuz they never got the thanks they needed at the time.

so anything you can do to show your gratfulness will be appreciated..

Throw them a BBQ. Invite other vets and neighbors to come and show they're appreciation as well.

I am a Vet, and I would probably like it if you got me a hooker. If you're not up for that, ask him or her about putting a flagpole up for them.
