Yeah I see what Christians are saying about holes in evolution, like how can man come from monkey, if there are still monkeys, thats a hole that hasn't been explained to me. And the evolution theory that a big bang happened and out of nothing came something, just doesn't make sense.

So Christians are saying there is a God who created everything. So I think that makes sense. But just want to know if there is any scientific evidence to support that idea? Is there?

There is the logical evidence that any concept you have must have a basis in reality. If people have the concept of God, there must be a basis. Concepts are derivative of the actual thing, and are necessarily diluted. ex. your concept of orange popsicle is less perfect than the actual popsicle, so if we have a concept of God as infiinite and loving, then he must actually exist to an even greater degree than our concept.

The universe is created by God. But not the way Bible says. The most close explanation is found from the following resource.

Carl sagan on Hindu cosmology
Carl Sagan was the distinguished Cornell University astronomer and Pulitzer Prize-winning author.

The main reason that we oriented this episode of Cosmos towards India is because of that wonderful aspect of Hindu cosmology which first of all gives a time-scale for the Earth and the universe -- a time-scale which is consonant with that of modern scientific cosmology. We know that the Earth is about 4.6 billion years old, and the cosmos, or at least its present incarnation, is something like 10 or 20 billion years old. The Hindu tradition has a day and night of Brahma in this range, somewhere in the region of 8.4 billion years.

As far as I know. It is the only ancient religious tradition on the Earth which talks about the right time-scale. We want to get across the concept of the right time-scale, and to show that it is not unnatural. In the West, people have the sense that what is natural is for the universe to be a few thousand years old, and that billions is indwelling, and no one can understand it. The Hindu concept is very clear. Here is a great world culture which has always talked about billions of years.

Finally, the many billion year time-scale of Hindu cosmology is not the entire history of the universe, but just the day and night of Brahma, and there is the idea of an infinite cycle of births and deaths and an infinite number of universes, each with its own gods.

Yes, any scientific article you read supports the idea of God creating everything.

The catch comes that some who read the scientific article find that this explanation of the world shows the world to be dead. Merely just drifting consequences, actions, reactions, ect.

While another reads the article and finds this explanation shows the world to be alive. That there is a will behind it. That we describe evolution really just describes the will God had for life.

It is two sides of the same coin. To say science disproves God is just a flip away from saying science proves God. Both are imaginative and inconclusive from raw data, unless animated with a preconceived belief.

If you believe this to be true, then perhaps you may see the sore lack of imagination the atheist pulls from science compared to the Christian. The Christian reads a science books and is free to imagine. The atheist reads the book and denies one more piece of imagination. And is happy to do so.

Atheism does not rely on science to proves its theories. It can be argued without science, but just by looking the world and commenting. However, the sight of an atheist is entirely superficial when does so.

I hope that cleared up your confusion. It think it came about because of a dichotomy you created between scientific progress and religion. Email me if you need more clarification.

If you see a fully functional pocketwatch lying on the ground and you don't see anyone around does that mean it just appeared? Obviously something as complex as a watch had to be created, especially seeing how all the working parts work together to make it functionable.. The human body is far more complex than any pocketwatch ever designed. It would be more reasonable to conclude that we too were designed.

Note some facts about the earth.
-it is the only planet known by scientists to be able to support life,
-it is the perfect distance from the sun. any closer and we would die from heat, any further we would die due to cold.
-the earth is tilted on its axis perfectly to sustain life. this tilt gives the earth seasons, which play a large part in our ecosystem.
-the moon acts as a counterbalance for the earth, much like a weight works for keeping the wheel of your car from shaking. without the moon, the earth would wobble out of control. and it's a great night light!
-the enormous size and gravitational pull of jupiter causes itself to attract almost all space debris that could destroy the earth.
-the earth is located in an eventless part of our galaxy so that it is not troubled by star explosions or anything of the like.
-isn't the night sky awe-inspiring to look at?
-the earth has an atmosphere that is able to sustain life.
-the earth is the most beautiful planet ever observed by astrologers, and they didn't even have to leave!

These are just a few of the infinite number of things that make human life possible. All the things mentioned above, plus the countless other things that would have to occur just to make human life on earth possible would be effectively impossible without the hand of someone to guide it, just like the pocketwatch that just could not possibly come from accident.

As far as "how did the universe come into existence, did you know that all matter is made up of energy? Energy is the basic recipe for all matter, the atomic bomb proved that. God's limitless energy is the source from which all matter came. - Isaiah 40:26

With all this in mind, the THEORY of evolution is rediculous (as if to say a pocketwatch appeared out of nowhere).

Many scientist believe that there is a Creator. What about the scientists that don't? Well, they're just like the ones that used to teach that the earth was flat when the Bible thousands of years ago said it wasn't (Isaiah 40:22)

The "why are there still monkeys" question is a JOKE, not an actual evolutionary problem. I mean, literally a JOKE, invented by a comedian to make people laugh.

I suggest you get a good book on evolution and read it. There is no contradiction in the simultaneous existence of monkeys with apes (such as we are) and other primates. It's called biodiversity and is the result of population divergence. More than one species can come from a common ancestor.

There is no evidence whatsoever to support creationism.

No matter what anyone says about the big bang being unlikely, it is miles above the idea that the boogie man created us out of nothing. (The big bang theory does not say we came from nothing btw. The most common belief is that the universe had no beginning or end)

But regardless, Mr. God was created by ignorant cavemen thousands of years ago. It was their best guess. We have much more educated guesses now. It's that simple.

When the earth was young, the moon was DRAMATICALLY closer to the earth than it is now. It had such a TREMENDOUS pull on our tides. There is scientific evidence that back when the moon was that close, the tides on our planet were upwards of 70+ feet high. Causing the tides to thrash and froth around with each other, it's proven that the tides eventually settled down in tide pools, and within said tide pools, was the ingredients needed for the creation of life. Add a little electricity to the soup, and viola. You got life.

It's still VERY possible that we were created from apes. There are creatures today that're evolved from other creatures, and yet we still have them today. It's theorized that many mammals evolved from birds. There are birds today, there are mammals today. There are even creatures that aren't quite bird... yet aren't quite mammal.

Just because the bible says something doesn't make it true. That is unless you're absolutely closed minded.

As a Christian, I don't need scientific evidence to support creation. And I will admit that my belief on the origins of the earth and all creation is based on my faith.

I see all the scientific evidence that points to the universe evolving from nothing being incorrect. The only other idea left is that someone created it.

I also view the Bible as a historical document (and there is evidence to support that) so I'm willing to accept the "blanks" on faith because they are in line with what I do observe.

Sure, it takes faith. I'm okay with this.

I do not know of any specific evidence to support. However, Darwin's thoughts on evolution was the "theory" of evolution. Neither evolution (macro-evolution) nor creation has been proven or disproven.

Personally, I feel that micro-evolution exists. (Meaning that within a species, changes occur). This would help explain differences between humans from the late 20th century and the late 19th century.

My advice is that you do a search on the web for creation science. I found this site: http://www.creationscience.org/index.asp

Personaly, I'm a Christian but I don't care about the big bang or evolution or anything like that because those don't disprove the existence of God. Also you might want to do a search for theistic evolution. You'll find arguments both for it and against it.

Psst...wanna know a secret? MAN DIDN"T COME FROM MONKEYS!! Sorry to yell, but I hate that people still have that misconception. I'm not going to spell it out here, because there are about 5 billion answers here that cover everything you could possibly want to know about evolution.
As for the second part of your question: As far as I know, there is no scientific evidence for creationism. That's the point.
Peace out.
