Be yourself, be a friend, talk to the fellow as a friend would. Games are for children. Don't play with his affections. An intellectual friend is harder to keep than a superficial one. One takes commitment and work, the other separates the friends from the acquaintances. A little work on your part, and you can determine which is worth having. The way to have a friend, is to be one. Let him decide which you are as well. Life long friends are scarce as hens teeth. Real conversation makes the difference.

The only thing I can think of is give him the old were better off friends thing.. This will proably not work. If it does great if it dosen't you may need to loose him all together. Some guys get weird and the stalking begins.. I hope that I didn't scare you. Anyway they can mess up future relationships.. Wait, I just had an Idea.. Try to fix him up with one of your friends.. Then again you did say he was nice. Nice guys are hard to come by, maybe you should give him a chance.. I proably have you more confused now, well, good luck.

Not to be a dick but if he fancies you and you don't fancy him, then break it off clean.. don't try to take him in as your friend because that will never be the only thing on his mind. I know you like the extra attention but even though you make it clear to him, hes still gonna think something else and try harder.
Not that it would be your fault per se, but if you have a guy around that likes you, even though you are just "friends" usually leads to trouble in the end when you start dating another guy. Your "friend" will get jealous and then stop talking to you and now you'll know why.

Of course everyone else has hit it right on the head so I will not rehash the same old answer. It is important to mention though, that seeing how "nice" he is,.. it can only be assumed that you already have a good friendship in the works. With this in mind, do not be so fast to dismiss the possibility of a relationship. Explain to him that presently you are not looking for that type of friendship. Be very mindful of his feelings and try not to come across as someone brushing him off. Who knows what is around the corner. Good luck

This is where i specialize. Every one can appear nice when they want something. Give em an inch and believe me. They try and take a mile. If you genuinly dont fancy him aviod the situation totally. He'll get over it. it happens to us all at some point. Good luck .

Well i would keep being his friend and wait to see if he asks you out and if he does let him down gently just say "Look i think your a really nice guy and all but i only see you as a mate i don't fancy you i'm sorry".
Thats what i said to a guy i didn't fancy and we stayed friends.
Hope i helped.

The obvious answer is to tell him that you want to be his friend and nothing more.
Always be honest in life. Sometimes telling the truth will not always be the easy way but you are never doing anyone a favor by telling them the truth.
Honesty is the best policy !!

I think you should go out with him...because honestly even though your not sexually attracted to him...thats probably a good thing...most guys that get you sexaully attracted are jekrs to begin with..and if you are saying hes a nice guy...I mean unless you see that he is really needy or something I would give him a chance

Go out with him on a date. You might feel differently after you've kissed him.
If not, drop him like a bag of spuds.
