He probably is incontinent. He can have a number of things like a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), bladder stones, cystitis (irritation in the urethra), anything. I would go to the vet and have him checked out. I would also recommend that when you do bring him in to the vet to try to get urine from your dog so your vet could test it for what might ail him.

Yep, sounds like it could be a urinary infection or just the fact that he's getting older. My dog started doing that s well at bout the age of 9-he was a Dalmatian. And I did go out and buy dog diapers for him because I refused to get rid of him or to keep him outside (as he was always an indoor dog). But at the same time I didn't want him to destroy my home and furniture. So if trip to the vet shows nothing to be wrong (which I hope there is not) then go to your local pet store and get a diaper for him. They are made out of denim and have Velcro around the waist area to hold it in place. They are actually made for female dogs when they go into heat. Another option you can do is go to a department store and get cloth baby diapers. You can wrap them around the dog and pin it with safety pins on his back side.Good Luck to you!!!

I have a 15 year old **** Tzu and she just started piddling in the house too after never really having accidents before. I would chalk it up to old age! What works for us is a scheduled "out" every 2 hours or so. You almost have to treat them like a puppy where you have to make them go outside every so often!
Good luck!

it is going to be complicated pondering you have been ignoring the subject for 9 years. it is going to likely be very complicated to the canines to impulsively no longer be waiting to bark at each and every thing. i might sudgest clicker training. Take the subject one step at a time. First, prepare your canines so she is familiar with the clicker ability something good (a take care of) then after your canines recognizes the clicker with the take care of/goodthing you could start to coach her with the barking subject. positioned her in a difficulty while she barks, as an occasion, somebody getting into the residing house. Take it very sluggish. First, have the guy knock/ring a door bell. each and every time she barks you could desire to punish her as quickly as I say punish her I mean do something to her that she would not like. you could desire to place her in yet another room and close the door (if she would not like being by myself) or make a noise that she would not like the "punishment" is up on your canines and something which you have observed that she doesnt like. while "punishing" her say an business enterprise "no" or notwithstanding you have knowledgeable her to comprehend she has completed something incorrect. After a minute or 2 take her out of the punishment and initiate over with the door. this might take sometime so i might recomend Doing it a lot as available. Slowly have the guy enter threw the door and close it, everytine your canines barks putting her into the punishment then you particularly can positioned your canines into different circumstances that she barks in and repeat the approach. each and every time she permit's somebody interior the door (or notwithstanding it is) without barking click the clicker and supply her a take care of. you will decide for to makesure she would not bark in circumstances greater then as quickly as, and changing to human beings getting into the door (or notwithstanding your doing) do no longer deliver yet another canines into the residing house until your first is knowledgeable suited. and make particular that your new canines is knowledgeable early while it is a puppy. good success!

Older dogs need to go outside more often as they begin to lose a little bit of bladder control. However, you may want to take him in and have him checked for a urinary infection, too.

Because he is old. Sometimes when dogs get older they start to go so they aren't able to make it. It sounds sort of degrading but try a diaper.
