If you've just been to a 50th, was there anything funny or interesting that came up. We have to entertain 300 people for an hour or two... There are 4 of us kids putting this on, and we have a good program, but would love a new idea. Poems, introductions....things to do? Thanx!

just some random ideas...
* Show commercials from the era (or act them out).
* Have like a "this is your life" type thing, where random out of site people will say something about your mom and dad, and your parents have to guess who's making the comment.
* A dance-off with popular dances from 1956.
* Read off the prices of random items from that time. Postage was = ? A Gallon of Milk was = ?

A slide show with pictures from the last 50 years is always fun. Use pictures of both your parents and of you kids while you are growing up.

It's also touching when you share a poem from the heart. I think that's a good idea.

Pictures of the past. You know how they have changed, the ugly first car, etc. Kind of like a slide show. Or if you don't want it to be funny, bring up things that they did for you and the kids- always being there.

I was just at a 50th birthday party & we had about 10 ladies line up & we blindfolded the birthday boy. He had to identify his wife by squeezing their butts. He would say yes, no or maybe after each person he "squeezed". We threw in a couple guys in the line too, to shake it up a bit. It was hilarious! I've also seen this done at a wedding where the bride had to pick out her groom by "butt checks".

So, do any of you know the most common phrase in a marriage? You'd think it was "I love you." or "Good morning" or "Wanna have sex?" or "I have a headache" but according a popular study done (insert favourite college name here) they polled couples who were married 50 years or more. The most popular phrases are-
"what did you say?" and "you must be deaf" and "you mumble!"

Loved that quip.

My parents and all their friends are kinda dirty, but me and my bro got them a few "adult toys" including blow up dolls because they wanted floating toys for the pool.

Everyone was laughing hysterically because, well, they're all pretty cool when it comes to that stuff. A lot of times speeches are a good way to kill time, video/photo montage....go with the flow...improvise
