I don't know, but I do put mine through a water softener for gentler repenting.

You know perfectly well that Holy Water only rinses your sins away. If they are heavy, oily sins, or have actually caused stains, then you must use Holy Soap first. There is some controversy about the temperature thing. But with the Vatican's lousy central heating system I'm not sure I'd take their ruling seriously.

Unfortunately the Catholic church has adopted many beliefs, practices and teachings that are NOT in the Bible, which is supposedly the basis for their faith. The Bible mentions nothing of holy water or pergatory or confession, etc.. these practices and beliefs were adopted later and, honestly, complicated everything. A lot of people cannot comprehend salvation being as easy as the Bible actually says it is... simply believing in Jesus Christ's death on the cross as the paid penalty for our sins... so they figure there must be more that we have to do... so things have turned into a faith-by-works system, which is the opposite of bibical.
I think the "holy water" that Catholics talk about may have its origins in the Bible when Jesus refered to water in baptism. Jesus taught about a water that would cleanse us of our sins and quench our thirst for eternity. He was not talking about any physical liquid. He was referring to salvation... being saved from your sins by faith in Him. Holy water.... for a lack of better words... is Jesus Christ Himself. His forgiveness is a water that cleanses us of our sins. The water used in baptism is not the water that cleanses. It is symbolic. Baptism is simply an outward display of the inner commitment to live life for God.
So, to answer your question more directly... you don't need "holy water" in the first place.
You might also want to rethink some of the Catholic beliefs... and read the Bible for yourself. It might surprise you to find what is ACTUALLY in there.
Hope this helps. sorry it's so long

You should try it one way. Have a friend try it the other way. And after you both die let us know which one worked better.

Of course, if you touch the Holy Water and it feels hot maybe you need something stronger, like an exorcism.

i think you need to read the Bible, hon. To have your sins washed away you need to sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness and beg Him for mercy. water won't wash away your sins no matter how small the sins are.
