My friend recently told me that her dad told her family in Sept. that he was gay and she found out that her mom has known for 11 years. We go to a conservative school and she doesnt want many ppl to know b/c she's scared they will judge her. What can I do to help her since she felt to confide this information to me? I really only know like 2 gay ppl and dont really know how to help her.

Maybe look at some resources with her. It may be hard for her to accept - especially being at a conservative school. First she needs to accept that there's nothing wrong or abnormal with it. If she's religious this may be more difficult than if she's not. Then maybe look at some 'Gay Pride' publications or websites, though nothing obscene or it will put her off! You could try going to meet some more gay people - use it as an opportunity to make new friends. Keep current with the latest news on gay marriages and things like that, but most of all, reassure her that you are ok with it, as it may help her to be.

well, everyone should respect gay ppl, they are part of the society, tell her to accept it, juss bcoz her dad is gay doesnt make her dad a bad person, he loves her the same way, but she shouldn't tell others bcoz ppl humiliate others for this, be supportive abt this fact & u don't tell anyone else abt this, hang out wid her, tell her its normal that her dad is gay & make sure she doesn't feel humiliated for this

just be there for her and try to stay as positive as you can with her. remind her that only god can judge her not people. i know that is hard for her but she will be ok as long as she has her family and a great friend like you. god bless
