Well here in middle east we think the same for americans as they think of us...!!:d

Be easy.. its all mixed over here... some think america is cool.. some think america is bad... just coz of war thingi... 50% 50% !!

come visit kuwait, qatar, Emirates , bahrain and other civilized middle eastern countries .. we treat westeners as they are PRINCE>.. but when we come to USA we are treated as terrorists... i still remembered what they did with me at airport ... !!! anyways... GOD BLESS AMERICA!!...

I'm from a small town and no we are NOT fat rednecks sitting on the porch we are hard working people. I'm proud of where I come from 99% of the time. We are very friendly, kind, helpful and happy. You wouldn't have anyone in a city running to the aide of someone in the community when they need it, you don't see or hear of (except rare occasions)schools taking donations when someones house burns down, everyone pulling together when there's a disaster or if there are improvements(just put in a little league field what the money that was raised didn't cover was donated with the work to do it was donated also) or something or someone who needs anything from food to plowing, if someone has an accident or illness and can't afford treatment or the hospital bill then we hold benefits to raise money for them even if it's for their living expenses till they can go back to work, also you don't have half the community at a funeral.
That's part of what I think of. I also think of honor, how we jump in to help (sometimes misguided) other countries, people doing whatever they can to come here to start a new life hoping it will be better for their family, yes there are things that I think of and am ashamed of like slavery, but there is soooooo much good I just wish everyone could see and experience what I do on a daily basises. I don't know why some countries seem to think that we are so rich, greedy, and awful people trust me I am so far from rich (in the $ sense)but I am rich with the things that matter(love, friends, family). I don't agree with everything that goes on but I have the privelage and right to have my own opinions and can voice them about everything.
I would like to know what you in the middle east think of us seeing you say that it's the same as we think of you?
There is so much more that I could say to answer your question but to sum it up I guess I would have to say I'M GLAD I LIVE HERE and not that I think any other country isn't as good or better just that this is where I am and I'm happy about that.
I hope that I have done justice in my answer for all of us small town rednecks that think the way I do.

If Americans are so bad then why are millions of people coming here illegally with millions more lining up trying to get in? Why do other countries buy American products, watch American TV, and beg for American dollars? Why do they come crying to us to save them when their foreign policies fail miserably and they need to be bailed out? Truthfully I would like nothing more than to cut off every country that bad mouths us. That means no free money being handed out and no support for your wars and no help with your natural disasters. Hell they aren't doing anything for us.

EDIT: It's not arrogance. It's just that we are tired of people from other countries always demanding money for one program or another (AIDS in Africa) and then have them bad mouth us constantly. We are always called stupid - just look at questions on this site and you'll see. Too many people want to take and not give anything and then scream arrogance or racist or other terms when they are questioned about it.

BTW, I was stopped 3 times at the airport in Ireland before I was allowed on the plane. I am blond haired and blue eyed. Thousands of people of all ethnicities are stopped at the airports. Is it perhaps that you are looking to be treated differently? We are also skeptical of Middle Easteners for good reason. 3000 of our people were MURDERED by Middle Easteners and they DANCED in the streets! So many more are calling for our deaths. Sorry if it offends you that we are skeptical but it is a reality that those in your homeland brought to us. BTW, I'm of Lebanese descent. Didn't know that before you started to bad mouth me did you? Does that change your opinion?

Also, I find it interesting that you are willing to label me as bad because I am tired of being trashed but you didn't say one word about the crap that was spewed for your answers. Pregnant 14 year olds? Gimme a break. We can talk all day about how women are treated in the Middle East. You didn't want any answers other than those that trashed the United States. I thank god every day that I live here as a free female instead of a piece of property.

America as a country is a powerful one where lots of people are migrating to have so much opportunity in terms of money and security, nothing can compare to the idea that you are living in the US and being a citizen. BUT the Americans are not doing a good job as citizens sorry but every time i watched TV it's like Americans are labeled as morons/dumb and out partying all the times.
