Read Amnesty Internationals reports on India for the past few years. Numerous abuses in Assam Nagaland Kashmir etc make it no where near the top. Maybe it will change soon.

Well... considering the fact that India has the largest slums in the world (some 3 million people living in an area that would comfortably house a few thousand) with children playing in sewage in the streets... and the government does nothing for them... I'd have to say no.

i think india is the worst ever country for human rights violations. look at what it is doing in kashmir and other freedom fighters in areas other than kashmir, tens of innocent people killed everyday, what else human rights violation cud it be, i am really amazed to hear such a question from an indian,
