I think it is holy because God approves. However, it is man who interprets what God approves and disapproves of, so it may be better to say something is holy because man told me God approves.

I wouldn't know. Holy ground is holy and I don't know if God approves of mass burial sites.

God above everything and God is the creator of everything.
As The Creator is the owner, so God is the only one to give an advantage to something rather than something else.
We are all humans created by God, yet God selected few human among us who are the Prophets to become the messangers.
This goes for anything.
