Hey
Im a Catholic and I was visiting a Baptist church today. I thought their ethos made SOOOO much more sense than that of the Catholic Faith. Should I convert when I'm older?
Thanks

I do not know your age but if you are Seeking Christian information It dose not matter. You are old enough to make your own choise, within the ways God has provided, To worship your creator. You may email me if you are an honest seeker. I do not spam, I just dont have the time.

or you can visit my website: www.mikesoutreach.com

Your relationship with God is between you and God. Do not let any man control your worship from the Heart. If you need to keep your worship to your self that is fine by God. When you are of legal age where you live and if you can do so without jepordizing your safety. then convert by all means. All over the world there are those of The Christian Faith who must keep it secret. God knows the heart.

Lizzie, can I ask you a question? Are you attending an english service when you go to mass at the "Catholic" church? If so, that's not a Catholic Church. A Catholic mass is done in latin and traditional Catholicism follows the Baltimore Catechism, not the heresies that have sprung up from Vatican II.

It is no wonder you are thinking about converting because God has given you the grace to see that something is wrong with where you are. But the Baptist heresy is no better. All Protestant religions were composed by men and are designed to appeal to a man's feelings and entertainment. Only the traditional Catholic church was begun by Our Lord and it is the only key to Heaven. Please email me at niki@nventure.com if you want to know more. :)

You should study your own faith. You may feel something towards the Baptists, but it is just a feeling. Feeling change and are not a meaningful way to make decisions. Seek truth, seek God, not warm fuzzies.

As a person who has studied, let me tell you first to find out for yourself, but when you do, you will see that the Baptist Ethos, when compared to History, the Teachings of the Christian Fathers, Logic, Sound Philosophy, Scripture, does not actually hold water. It falls a part.

Also let me tell you, that Catholics have the Eucharist and Baptists do not. Why would you trade Christ for a symbol?

anyway study

if you are confused about Catholics and scripture.

Baptists are kinda in the same spirit as the Franciscans but before you convert (pray for wisdom, knowledge and understanding as well as guidence with your decision) I would highly recommend listening to or reading Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Karl Keating. The Baptists are fundamentialists and have some different beliefs and actively try and do convert some Catholics. In the Catholic view you would be without the Eucharist sadly.

Religion is all a matter of faith (or rather, helping you keep up the faith you should naturally feel on your own) if you find that you feel more comfortable with the way you see the lord in this other church then maybe you should go there instead...its all a matter of what environment helps you understand and accept easier. I was raised catholic but I do not feel everything they taught me to be true, I feel more complete as a pagan, I believe in God and accept what may come, but I am sure to not judge anyone. Tolerance is everything. Enjoy your new surroundings and i hope they make you more complete.

HI,

Well do you feel like the LORD wants you to go to the Baptist Church?

This is something you really need to pray about also read your Bible
see if the the Catholic church holds up to the WORD OF GOD or see
if the Baptist Church hold true to the WORD OF GOD there are alot of
churches out there that don't hold to the WORD OF GOD so I would pray
alot and see what the LORD tells you to do.

Most do make more sense, some don't . Depends on what part of the country and which Baptist. American and southern Baptist are the straightest. Independent and missionary are a little too tight-but people are good. A lot of catholics go to a Calvary Chapel , they good.

Hi l****e. Do what you want to do! its your choice, your belief, your religion and don't let ANYONE change that. I think you should try discussing it with your parents and see what they think. I'm (as you know) a really strong christian and pretty much nothing can change that, but remember that they only showed you the good parts and mass is really boring that's why i prefer re going on weekend trips etc (like last weekend) because they make it fun and really show you the power of the holy spirit, maybe you can come next time (you don't have to because i know it sounds really weird and stupid but ts really uplifting) and without them my faith would be a gone out flame. Think about it, its your choice so do what right for you!

It is not the right religion that matters. It is the trust you have in your heart and how you can listen to it. When one needs or wants to get into something they do not know about, it is best to do the homework before jumping into things. After that, with knowing all what you can, all the "pros" and "cons" you can decide better. When done with your homework, bring your heart in. Bring in opinions if you want. Compare. Just see what is better for your own interests and just go with it. There will never be anything wrong when going that direction. Always remember that when you need an answer, it will always be there waiting for you in your heart. Hope that helps. Cheers!

Go wth what you believe in. Don't practise a faith that's not what you believe. But leave some time to think about that decision and perhaps do some more research into it! We only went on one visit about 15 minutes long! Don't be too hasty...
