Good question, especially since not all gays engage in sodomy. Rather, there is mutual masturbation, frottage, oral, etc. But I think it's the quote about "A man shall not lie down with another man" or something to that effect that Christians are really against. What I've never understood is that religion is supposed to make someone a better person, correct? If all they're doing is using God to justify being a hate-monger, why even bother going to Church?

Because in the dictionary it states that sodomy is also Oral Sex. *Gasp* Do you know what that would do to some people to find out that Oral Sex is a SIN in the bible when just using the word Sodomy.
sod·om·y (sd-m)
n.
Anal copulation of one male with another.
Anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex.
Copulation with an animal.
It's only when 2 of the same sex are doing this that it's wrong. Perfectly alright for married people to do this, according to the bible... That's why they are attacking Gay Marriage, rather than trying to make Homosexuality illegal (since Sodomy USED to be illegal, but now is an ignored law because of the heterosexuals).
I honestly think the whiners sit around at home and imagine homosexuals having sex, get upset and then decide to WHINE to tthe rest of us about it. It's pathetic, IMO. Hopefully one day the Southern Baptists will walk into their bedrooms and scream "Missionary Style ONLY!"

"Being gay" is morally neutral.
But committing homosexual ACTS is not.
When discussing homosexuality from a moral standpoint, it's very important to separate the ORIENTATION from the ACT.
Heterosexual sexual acts with consenting adults who are not related to us are the only natural ones, and even in this pro-gay and politically correct climate, I do not hesitate to say that.
There are all sorts of non-heterosexual sex acts that people are inclined to do -- homosexuality, pedophilia, incest, and so on.
But even if people feel the urge to do those things, they have the means to control themselves. Whether they do so or not is another story.

I want to say that Julia above is spot on.
The sin of homosexual acts is a part of sins against the created propose of sexual activity, and not specifically its own separate category. It is specifically against the natural law meaning that it is not a part of the Christian faith to consider such activity wrong, but rather it is known through the light of natural reason.

the actual quote is man should not lie with man as woman.
lev 18:22-22 “‘And you must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing.
matt 19:4-In reply he said: “Did YOU not read that he who created them from [the] beginning made them male and female
roman 1:27
and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.
this doesn't make me hate anyone,but i do beleive it's a sin...as adultery,as murder...sin is sin
